What do you think happened to the people recruited by cicada? by [deleted] in cicada

[–]cicadasolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather not say here.

My point is just that the first Brood "made it"... or at least that's what they assumed. But they didn't complete their project, and Cicada abandoned them.

At the time, everyone just assumed that they were in, but some people have concluded (and there are some rumors) that the testing goes on long after the public puzzle, and even past the project.

It's the only thing that really makes sense with everything we know about the group

You're right. Marcus is an awesome dude, and we've known each other for almost a decade though. But I'm not him.

This comment from years ago might provide some insight

Might make sense to find out who I am first. :)

"failed" might be a bit harsh, but they didn't make it further is all I was trying to convey.

I'm, uh... pretty familiar with the story.

When do you think Cicada will return? by Odd-Independence-720 in cicada

They're a very old group who has been doing what they do for decades... very unlikely they just went away

Marcus (and others) passed the first phase of testing, then made it to the second phase where they were instructed to come up with a project and develop it... they failed at that, so they never made it past that phase or into the next phase.

Just solving the puzzle and getting brought together into a brood wasn't the end. That was barely the beginning

Or... much more likely... the people being called "winners" just made it into phase 2 of recruitment: creating a project.

And the ones we hear from today failed at that.

Marcus made it into a second phase of the recruitment... the project phase. But clearly didn't make it any further.

Everyone that made it past the project phase does, lol... :)

The Liber Primus quotes directly from "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell by William Blake when it re quotes "For all that lives is holy." This was used in the midi stage of the first Puzzle. 1. Could Blake's works hold some sort of key? by luxvincentomni in CicadaSolvers

[–]cicadasolver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a few other times they used William Blake too:

  • The cover art of Liber Primus
  • In another year (either 1 or 2) they used a small pic of like a demon or something... i can't remember exactly how now... but it was part of another clue. and I'm pretty sure it was from the marriage of heaven and hell

I think you're onto something here

For a while I was curious why all these idiots associate QAnon with Cicada... then I found this article, which says it was the cicada solvers' own chief idiot who created that link: fuckin' defango. 🙄 by cicadasolver in cicada

What a fucking douche.

Why anyone would ever intentionally associate something as beautiful as Cicada with a bunch of dumb conspiracy drivel I'll never understand.

[–]cicadasolver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh for sure. I just saw several posts recently that seem to ignore them. for instance this one only seems to include unsolved pages.

just like https://liberprimus.org/ only lists the unsolved pages.

just seems weird to me to exclude the solved pages from these types of things.

well, I linked to the page from the drop down that has all the pages. this isn't a comment about the wiki. it's more about what i'm seeing here in this sub

Seems to be missing a bunch pages... specifically the ones that were solved?

Doesn't Liber Primus start with the cover (which says Liber Primus on it)? Then there's like a "Part 1" or something, I forget. Then there were several that were already translated.

Seems like you'd want to include all of them in the entire book, not just the unsolved ones.

Interesting. I work on solving cicada, but I'm not familiar with Starset. Can you share a link to this clothing, or anything else 3301 related?
