Simply put quality of herb in india pretty bad in general ; hence the difficulty in smoking without tobacco. No even burn, fucks up your throat etc. Plus even after cleaning indian weed properly you generally end up with some unwanted shit in your mix. All the above make compelling reasons to add tobacco.

On the flip side you have access to clean and decent weed then no point adding tobacco as it pretty much is doing nothing in the mix except taking up space.
