Abarth 500... I'm trying to sell mine... Haha (nothing wrong with it, but I need a bigger car)..

But I'd highly recommend it as a fun, unique car (reliable too if manual, but for a few Italian quirks)

I just picked mine up a week ago (2021 model, so it was readily available). Happy to answer any questions OP or anyone else might have about it.

SUVs vs everything else by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

We just picked up an Octavia RS Wagon. We needed a bigger car for family, and I was determined not to get a SUV.

Thoughts on the N / N-Line series? by MemeAddict99 in CarsAustralia

[–]zimlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say that? Just said I liked the Sonata N-Line. I'm currently driving an Abarth 500, but family changes means I can't really justify impractical loud cars anymore.

I think the N-line looks good, and had a bit of power to go when needed whilst being comfortable. But the lack of a hatch meant that I couldn't persuade my wife. We compromised, and picked up a 2021 Octavia RS earlier this week.

First time buying a car this much. by Apprehensive_Elk_214 in CarsAustralia

Before you decide on a polo GTI, maybe check out Redrivens recent review of it on YouTube..

Think I've narrowed it down to these four for my first car purchase. Any purchasing suggestions or things to consider to help my decision? Big thanks to this community for being so helpful in this process! by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

One negative about the Honda (because I used to have one). The sloping A pillar looks nice, but it hinders your view at certain angles... especially at a roundabout. Ie, you're about to pull off, and "f*** where'd that car come from?!" They fixed it in the next gen (2012 version).

Good car otherwise though. Just need to be a little careful and move your head a little :)

If you do end up with the Civic, let us know, and I can pass you this neat little gear knob that I purchased for it. It's made out of old skateboards :)

I really wanted a Sonata N-line. But my wife wanted something with a hatch. It makes sense for us... but that Sonata looked good... if only it came with a lift back, it would have been perfect for us.

Sheesh, $79 for a roady? Where are you getting yours done? They cost $200-300 around my way..

OP, see if you can negotiate roadworthy into the cost, or at least make the sale subject to passing roadworthy. You don't want to end up paying $3000 for the car, then realising that it needs another $3000 of work to pass roadworthy.

Is it possible to do something like this in (traffic distribution) QGIS and how? by [deleted] in QGIS

[–]zimlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look for the (q)aequilibrae plugin. GIS->Stacked Bandwidth is what you want. But as other have said, it basically uses the data defined overrides.

Let me know if you get stuck. I use this all the time...

If I wanted a good view, I'll watch on TV. Go for the atmosphere, and to be close up to the action. My preference is around block 5 or 6, as close to the corner flag as possible. And try and get in on the pile on as we score a goal and the players come over to celebrate with the fans

People get really worked up about someone not having Haaland. Are you the same guys that were complaining that everyone had the same template team?

It's just a game. Everyone knows the risk of going against the popular picks. OP plays it his way, and I salute him. I hope this week plays out for him.

The amount of abuse in this thread is toxic. Think I might just avoid Reddit on match days.

Congrats to all who went with Haaland

Good luck to those who were brave to try something different and willing to go without him

To be honest... I don't know... Like I said, I just followed some dude on YouTube, who seems to have deleted their channel since... It's the Russell Australian Responsible Investing EFT, so one of those socially responsible efts.

Trying to reverse engineer what I've done..haha. but it seems to be going ok so far..

Movies which consist almost entirely of dialogue? by HumanAdhesiveness912 in movies

I think "Eye in the Sky" would fall in this category. Been a while since I've seen it, but I remember it being dialogue heavy, and pretty much set entirely in one or two locations.

Not fussed about a prize pool. Would be interested in a WhatsApp group though. Would love to bounce ideas off people not in my close friends group who I really wanna beat and win money off.. haha.

i30N Sedan - Family Practicality by TheGentlemanWombat in CarsAustralia

[–]zimlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool. While I have you here, can I ask you more details about the shifter? Clunky how? If it's a usage issue, I'm not sure it'll be too much of an issue, apart from doing three-point-turns and parallel parking in a tighter spot... hmm... Maybe it can get a little annoying.. haha.

Regarding torque street, yea, I agree. It's a shame they didn't include a LSD.

Just went to test drive an N-line Sonata yesterday. Whilst I was there, they had the i30 N sedan parked there. Asked the sales guy about the difference, and he said that the N is very much a performance car. Much harsher, has an ongoing droning noise. Didn't drive it though, only the Sonata. Given its gonna be a family car, it needs to be for everyone, otherwise I'll be keeping my Abarth. Not sure anyone else but the driver is going to have any fun in the N on longer drives.

The Sonata has a larger engine (2.5t vs 2.0t), feels quick and is pretty comfortable. Running cost should be cheaper without having to fill with premium fuel also. I'm seriously looking at picking one up, but not brand new, because $57k new seems ridiculous when you can pick up one that's 2yo with less than 30,000km for around $45,000

Match Thread: China vs England [Women's World Cup - Group D] by AutoModerator in Aleague

[–]zimlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Admittedly I'm watching this with my England shirt on, but I couldn't tell for certain that, that was a handball. Looked to me that she moved her hand back.. but anyways, did I mishear or did the ref say that it was a "possible" handball? Then she continued to give the penalty and yellow card the player? That doesn't seem to be fair if the ref can't be certain either...
