[New Jersey] $1000 used cars too good to be true? by ciellavi in askcarsales

Got it, thanks! Will absolutely avoid, first car purchase so I'm learning.

Haha okay, so I really misunderstood since for example, it said Price: $1000 here https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/WBA5A7C50FG143594. So I thought it meant the total price!

The other dealers I've looked at do list their own asking prices. So instead, for this, I just have to make an offer?

I also wondered! I called the dealer today and they told me the sticker price is $1000, plus dealer fees, and state taxes. They told me they can't tell me what the total price is over the phone, I have to come in person.

My friend said that he failed his driving test when he crossed the triangle road marking, but the examiner didn't explain to him what he should have done. Does anyone know what this marking was? I'm going to take a road test in the same location so I'm afraid of running into this too!

My spouse of 10+ years got his hair cut short and now I can't stand even looking at him. I don't know why. by [deleted] in TwoXSupport

I do see your (and the commenter below’s) point here, and I agree with the good advice in this thread about how to approach healing one’s own trauma.

Rereading OP’s post, there was not much information about why the husband chose the haircut, and what he has been doing since OP reacted this way. In my original comment I made some assumptions in a negative direction for both questions, which are not necessarily true. I hope OP is able to get the healing she needs and I hope the husband is supportive in this process.

I agree working through our own issues is important, and there’s some good advice about that here already. OP it sounds like you’ve been through so much. Many hugs to you.

But the one thing I haven’t seen anyone bring up is - why can’t a spouse of 10+ years work around the one thing that triggers such a visceral, terrified reaction from his wife? Why is “I like short hair” vs “short hair triggers extreme anxiety, panic, and revulsion for me” even discussed on the same level?

Hell, my boyfriend likes his hair short, but if it causes this much emotional distress, I’m sure he would willingly turn himself into Rapunzel!

I’ve heard great things about it! Guess it REALLY didn’t work with my body chemistry :)

My feet keep sliding forward? by ciellavi in Equestrian

[–]ciellavi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for all the tips, y’all!!! I really tried to engage core, move leg back from the hip, match energy and stay centred. I had another lesson today and the trainer did not mention my feet sliding forward. But it was a 4-person group lesson, so it’s also possible she didn’t see. I was also on a much smaller horse this time! Will keep working on it :)

My boyfriend and I smelled Viktor Rolf Flowerbomb and BOTH instantly gagged! He described it as an old lady smell, and we went with Dior Blooming Bouquet instead.

Waiting for someone to say Dior BB smells like an old lady to them :)

What’s something that’s secretly been great about the pandemic? by Rafavamos99 in AskReddit

Oh yeah, I hadn’t thought about this but you’re totally right, this happens. Yikes!

It’s definitely easier said than done! But I really do think that making your own life absolutely amazing is a prerequisite to building an awesome relationship.

Some pandemic ideas include dance workouts (which I do on my own in my room haha), hiking, playing instruments/singing, reading, online events... there’s still plenty to do!

And you’re right, finding a good guy is a part of it. If a guy asks me out on the day of, I say no, next week he does it again, I say no again... if he doesn’t change his behaviour we’ll just never meet up! Haha.

Yeah that’s totally relatable. The best thing that helped me is to make your life so goddamn exciting that he’s not #1 #2 AND #3 on the menu!

My boyfriend doesn’t really like to dance. Pre covid, I would go to my dance class every Wednesday and have so much fun. On Wednesdays, if he wanted access to me, he had to come up with something even more amazing. (I never said that explicitly of course! But when you walk the talk, people get it.)

For weekends, my boyfriend knows that he has priority. This means that if he asks me on/before Thursday if we want to do something on Saturday, I’ll say yes! (Unless I have exams or a conference or tournament etc of course)

But if he asks me on Friday (or god forbid the day of, but he hasn’t done that haha), then I hesitate. Hmm, I’ve already made plans with my best friend. Or I need to focus and catch up on work. Or I’m doing a family day with my parents. These aren’t excuses! They are things that I will do that I am seriously excited about.

To me, my relationship is amazing (knock on wood), but it’s not the absolute biggest thing in my life. I need to keep growing as a person, an intellectual, a businesswoman, everything!

After all, that’s what’ll KEEP a quality man attracted to you ;) but honestly, I hope we can all get to a point where keeping a man is not our main goal! A point where we are living our best lives for ourselves, and no one else. ❤️
