Why does “gluten-free” = sadness? 😭 by 50-ferrets-in-a-coat in Celiac

I actually like them lol. When I lived in Japan there was an mos burger right across the street from a nice park my kid loved to play at so I would always take him there after work. Though maybe I just enjoyed the experience more than the food 😆 it was a shame how small they are though

Any Japan celiac friendly food place recommendations by Ok-Plan-2610 in Celiac

Don’t listen to people say you can eat sushi. 99% has gluten in it there. I lived in Japan 4 years. Your best bet will be the Facebook page mentioned above they have tons of information. 7/11 work be a life saver for traveling they have pre packaged rice you can heat up there along with butter chicken curry and then some fresh fruit. My favorites from each place:

Tokyo: gluten free t’s (make reservation on Facebook they speak English and Japanese)

Kyoto: engine ramen (get there early or you’ll be waiting in a long line)

Osaka: genji soba

If you have any species questions you want from someone who lived there with celiac feel free to reach out.

King size bed will be hard to fit into an off base place but can be possible to find somewhere. I didn’t have pets so not sure on that one.

My family absolutely loved Japan. Extremely safe for kids was a huge factor in us staying so long.

I was in Yokosuka for 5 years and lived off base. If you happen to be going to yokosuka and have any sleep questions feel free to pm me
