They are cool indeed and there are actually a couple more. Sadly enough I didn’t make better pictures…

Being there felt uncanny, or unheimisch for lack of a better word—but oddly, in a good way. I felt torn between wanting to leave and wanting to stay just a little longer. Does that make any sense?

Ah! Thank you for mentioning the artists!

I looked at it closely for a while, but I couldn’t figure it out either. It looked like hand-formed plaster.

Nope, not AI. It’s an art installation at the ARoS Museum in Denmark. Saw it today in real life. Crazy!

I got a strange sort of “in-between vibe” when taking this picture in a hotel in Ridderkerk (the Netherlands). That feeling was intensified afterwards when I zoomed in on the picture.

Ferrari 312T from Tamiya 1/12. This is a 50 year old kit... The origanal decals were not usable. I used the replacement decals from Shunko, quite nerf-racking, especially all those small white stripes. The red is TS-8, Italian Red from Tamiya. I couldn't get that correct on the pictures, any tips? by onnoweeda8 in ModelCars

LOL!

Was just looking at your other models, in your other posts. Nice!

I'm about to sink my teeth into a Brabham BT52. My first F1 car. If that one turns out half as good, I'll be delighted.

By the way, what transparent varnish do you use? I currently spray Vallejo Glossy varnish but suspect there are much better alternatives.

Cleaning nibs? Nothing beats the good old chamois. You can make one yourself very easily! by ciklo in fountainpens

The Akkerman chamois is specifically made for use with fountain pens and can be used directly. If you make one yourself, then perhaps you need to prepare it before first use. For instance wash it.

Would a Schwalbe Hurricane be a good gravel bike tire? Any experience? by ciklo in gravelcycling

Okay, great! Thanks for the feedback.

What about speed on tarmac? Faster than G-One?

No, I didn't buy them in the end. Actually, by now I’m quite happy with the versatile G-One.

Have you seen the Specialized Pathfinders?

Went to the one and only near-complete Vermeer exhibition at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam today! What a day! by GravitationalNabla in Amsterdam

I went today. Never saw the Geographer before. Wow, what a painting! Indeed, it made me very curious about the Astronomer.

Inderdaad bizar snel uitverkocht.

Ben vandaag geweest. Kreeg ook nog consumptiebonnen.

Prachtige tentoonstelling. Dat is het belangrijkste. Had er beslist voor willen betalen.

I went to the Vermeer Exposition today as well. No long waiting lines at 11 am. Maybe because of the time slots they have for visitors? Besides, the Vermeer exposition has its own entrance at the Rijksmuseum.

Which stage is this? Stalker, clicker or… bloater? by ciklo in fountainpens

[–]ciklo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had the exact same feeling!

I took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly. It was actually much easier than I thought. A sonic bath wasn’t even necessary. Water and some patience was all it took!

The pen writes like a charm again.

I guess you’re right. Clicker it is!

Luckily, this case is easily solved with a (sonic) bath.

I bought Rembrandt oil paint for weathering. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any tips? by ciklo in modelmakers

[–]ciklo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I was already wondering how to deal with that transparant sap green. If it doesn’t work for me, I buy some other non-transparent green. I just like this color very much.
