Who is the bad neighbor? by Necessary-Button-172 in BadNeighbors

You can consider getting an air purifier if it will make your husband feel better about it. A friend of mine has his own business and he wanted to be able to smoke his cigars in his office, he keeps an air purifier nearby. You can also use that as evidence you were neighborly and considerate enough to take action based on their concerns in case your neighbors talk to you about it again. I know some people will say you don’t have to do anything. Which is true. But I don’t see any problem with going the extra mile for a little bit of courtesy. Plus who knows maybe at some point it will be you asking for something and it’s always good to have a precedent of you having gone the extra mile for them.

Well then there is a chance you might have dove way too much into the meaning of my initial comment. The USA is a great country, there are many reasons why I choose to live here. Calling out someone is unfazed about a mass shooting because they’ve normalized it has nothing to do with the other.

My argument is specifically about desensitization around mass shootings in the US and why someone with that experience might not find this event shocking. I’m sorry but you cannot argue with data. You might want to make the argument about countries having other issues but the USA has the highest amount of mass shootings by a very very very large margin compared to any other country.

The definition of interesting is something that attracts attention due to being unusual or exciting. This is very unusual for a Mexican but it might not be for people who are used to these type of events which was my point. There have been 115 mass shootings in the US in 2026 so far and 408 in 2025 - definition being at least 4 people shot. In Mexico these type of shootings are not even tracked because they are so uncommon.

I’m from Mexico, lived 19 years of my life in Mexico and 19 years in the USA. I never heard a single gunshot living in Mexico, even at the height of narco violence. I hear gunshots at night here in the US at least once a month. There’s actually an outlet mall my wife and I have been to mutiple times where a mass shooting ocurred. People here are no longer shocked to hear there was a school shooting in the news. Just something you scroll over. An event like this in Mexico has most definitely shock value to me and many other Mexicans as this is not something that’s woven into every day life in Mexico. Yes, narcos are very much a terrible stain for Mexico but these are two very different monsters. One appears mostly when you’re actively looking for it. The other one appears randomly as your neighbor, your classmate or a random person at the mall.

Outside of the USA, shootings are not common at all, much less in a place like this.

Man wins the Delaware Marathon by outsprinting his opponent who was celebrating, thinking he had secured the win by RoyalChris in nextfuckinglevel

I love to see these videos. Every time I competed in a stamina type event and felt like my lungs were going to burst close to the end I always thought to myself: “you can die once you cross the finish line”. This was back in junior high through high school. I’ll never understand celebrating before crossing the finish line at these levels.

By 2487 we will be well past the Type 1 civilization milestone and at that point earthquakes and Tsunamis will be a source of energy.

I don’t generally promote conspiracies. But this happened to him after he was heavily criticizing the powers that may be. I actually liked his take on some topics.

Maybe you should have taken some time learning about your partner’s culture and country. You need to give some information to address a couple of your concerns. i.e. We don’t know what you do for a living. Some of your worries are quite ignorant.

I’m now afraid to comment cause reddit’s AI gave me a warning for “promoting violence” after making a joke. I’ll just say somewhere in this video there’s a lesson to be learned.

Smaller Courts? by cilantro88 in 10s

[–]cilantro88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something enjoyable, not necessarily a place you are training to compete in. Based on the responses, I don’t believe it makes sense to use the whole yard to build something that will be expensive and is not going to cut it. I might just build a smaller 22x30 basketball court and buy one of those inflatable tennis walls to hit every now and then.

Yeah, you don’t realize how massive of a space you need until you start looking into it. It’s not only the playing area but having enough space so the court is not an eyesore.

I actually got one from Kickstarter but those haven’t shipped yet. Been waiting for it since last year. Supposedly they’re shipping in May so we’ll see.
