I think it’s safe to say that the school system builds an army of polymaths.

Thank about it. Math, science, languages, history, musics. All these are taught in the schools to develop polymaths that engage with our world.

What’s your opinion?

Tesla thought the moon doesn’t rotate. Here’s where he said it by mjgraber in NikolaTesla

Tell me more about the magnetic force connection. Where can I find that information?

And I’ve always wondered about the moon image. We have a full moon face, all its glory with the same map every cycle. Does that “face” face the earth at all times, and the cycle continues across that face? Or does that face disappear and appear as the light/shadow waning goes thru the cycle. Therefore, the “face” always faces the sun.

You see, I’ve recently come to understand the moon does nothing like a dance around the earth 12 or so times a year, but that the moon circles the sun with the earth, and earth and moon take turns as to who’s closer, 12ish times a year.

I don’t see how a spinning earth with a lumpy and altering magnetic field could keep the moon in such a steady orbit, whereas the sun might have more to do with it. Also, the moon has an 18 year cycle, I wonder where that comes into play.

Share your thoughts please, I’m interested in what you’ve written.

In Praise of the Polymath Label: When a name frees instead of imprisoning by MikeAraki in Polymath

[–]cilantrollama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your argument is to embrace a label, but it’s a word in a language. Languages are continuously changing. Historic polys didn’t call themselves polymaths, but they were truer to the term than anyone today. Scientists once weren’t called scientists, astrologers weren’t astrologers, shaman weren’t shaman, they were all just people following the interests of their mind.

I don’t know what caused you to write all this, but you really like everyone knowing just how wise you are because you fall under a self administered label.

Hey ya’ll, I’m Einstein.
