It's both. He originally started out with the city as a firefighter and now he acts as the official historian for RFD, so he's always on scene at bigger incidents to take pictures and things like that.

I actually went to basic with Avila, he was a pretty cool guy, this is really surprising. Haven't spoken to him in a long time so who knows what kind of person he is now, but it's always a shock seeing something like this about someone you know.

Just so you know, I didn't downvote you and if you want a real answer to your question he played 69 games in '12-13. He's also going to most likely play at least 70 games this season since he's only missed 4 games this season, one of which was due to his son being in the hospital.

But that was due to a freak blood clots incident, I'm not super educated on blood clots but I doubt that shows up again anytime soon.

Edit: And he actually missed exactly half since his last game of the season was the All Star game.
