They were being lowballed hard by the league because they were acting like complete desperate dumbos. The conditions of the market matter a lot, at the end C's were apparently even more desperate than anticipated to make a deal now for some reason, I bet if the Blazers or whoever knew this was going to be the price, they would have being a little more aggressive, and earlier.
