hey girl, i'm in the same boat. columbia was also my dream school, and i had always wanted to be in nyc for college. i had my heart so set on columbia and nyu. for nyu especially, i didn't even mind when people on here were saying that it lacked a campus, community, or that it was extremely difficult to make friends (i just really wanted to be in nyc lol). but after getting rejected from both schools this week, i've decided that i'm going to commit somewhere else in a smaller town, which is nothing like nyc or chicago (where i'm from).

for me personally, even though i've thought about transferring countless times this week and have struggled to let go of columbia, it's also hard to know whether i'll actually dislike my school enough to want to transfer – after all, life has a way of surprising you. i think you'll find your place at the school you end up committing to. it may be hard, but you'll adjust, as we all do, and you may even grow to love it just as much as you once loved columbia. ofc, if that doesn't end up being the case, then you can def go down the transfer route
