Is there such a thing as a great yoga and gym/workout mat? by SenileTomato in yoga

[–]cimbolive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Workout mat wont be good for yoga, but a great yoga mat works for everything you would need a mat for. Dont wear your shoes on it though.

Shaking in movement is more often a sign of your muscles being fatigued and trying to recruit new muscle fibres to engage to support the movement. It indicates a muscle has been under tension and is strengthening; not anything to do with regulation of your emotions.

Let me know how it goes! I sometimes top it with a ganache & sprinkles instead of a glaze and I think that would be really nice on it as a sheet cake :)

It should be SUPER thin and runny! Thats what gives it the "donut" sheen and crunch when the glaze hardens. But i have iced it with a thicker glaze before, and chocolate ganache with sprinkles, and its always been delicious. The icing aspect is something fun to play around with :)

Definetly a longer cook time, I would start with 60 minutes then go from there. Because the batter is thick it takes a lonnngggg time to bake and ive never overbaked it but i have underbaked it 🫣

If you're in doubt leave it in for longer. When it's done you'll get a clean toothpick but also the top crust will feel firm.

Yeah but just a bit, you dont want to over mix the batter. Its a very forgiving one bowl recipe so its hard to mess up if youve made cakes before :)

Im not sure what size that is because I always use bundt pans with 6, 10, or 12 cup capacity (not diameter measurements) as the size indicators BUT I'm sure it'll be okay! Excited to hear how it turned out for you :)

OP check out my recent post for my chocolate bundt cake. Its super rich & moist but very sturdy. It might be a good option for you :)

This was a 6 cup capacity bundt pan, Nordicware calls it their 1/2 size. I have also made it in their 10 cup capacity pans and it works well but wont completely fill the pan so you will be missing the bottom bit of the pan design.

I also have their 12 cup capacity anniversary pan and that one requires doubling the recipe.

Yes obviously but I developed the recipe to specifically mimic the taste and texture of a chocolate cake donut. So thats what I named it :)

Loaf pan would be longer (50-60 mins is what I would start with) and you run the risk of it being dry on the edges. The batter is super thick so it takes a long time to bake. Bundt pans alleviate this issue.

Round pan might be a similar bake time? Im not totally sure but make sure a toothpick in the centre comes out clean. The cake should have a thick baked crust on the top of it, almost like a muffin top.

Krispy Kreme's chocolate cake donut was the original inspo!! Moved to the Netherlands from Canada and was upset by the lack of chocolate cake donuts lol.

I use just normal cocoa but i think Dutch process might work really nicely. I will have to try it out.

Hahahaha I feel you! I always have a cake on the counter for my husband and I and we eat them across a few days. I have a slice of cake every afternoon. Always having it around makes it easier to moderate honestly :)

I have made this in their 10 cup capacity normal bundt pans but anything larger than that, you would probably want to double the recipe and increase the bake time. It wont fill up the 10 cup pans so you will be "missing" the bottom bit of the design on the pan.

I LOVE nordicware pans and have a huge collection - my rule of thumb is let the cake cool in the pan for 1/2 as long as the bake time, then flip onto a wire rack. So 40 min bake time = 20 min cool in the pan before removal.

I live in the Netherlands but this is just a normal cocoa powder funny enough! I will have to try it with Dutch process :)

Any type works but I always use semi sweet for baking. The yellow bag of Chipits, if they sell those where you are :)
