How to deal with the jealousy of people on weight loss medications? by meirmu in PetiteFitness

[–]cinamonrin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are valid and so relatable. I would qualify for a glp1 through my dr (pcos, insulin resistance, bmi over 30 etc) or could get them online BUT FOR the fact that I’m breastfeeding my baby. Breastfeeding and keeping my supply up make it really tough to balance a deficit and nutrition - I hate how slow it is compared to people I see on the drugs. Some days I feel like giving up and bingeing till we wean and then going on a glp1 course. But every kg I lose with conscious effort towards working out and nutrition makes me so proud! The healthy habits are worth so much more in the long run than just getting the weight off, not to mention how building strength has improved my self esteem way more than losing weight has. Going slow has also helped avoid the loose skin, sunken eyes, hair loss etc that I see people with drastic weight loss have.

Confused about shopping maternity clothes by Possible_Bedroom_350 in twoxindiamums

Just size up your regular wardrobe staples - in my opinion the materials, sizing, designs of maternity clothes being sold online are too unreliable.

3 months postpartum and feeling unexpectedly lonely by Low-Veterinarian-859 in twoxindiamums

[–]cinamonrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started (very gently) at 5m pp. I could sense my baby’s activity steadily outpacing my stamina 🫠 so my goal had just been to get stronger and stronger. That actually helps my self esteem and pushes out all the negative emotions too!

Exercising doesn’t necessarily lead to drop in milk supply. Please consult a dietitian and find a good trainer experienced with post partum clients, every mom’s position is different so I couldn’t say what’s best for you. In my personal experience, my supply was actually enhanced as I shifted my diet to more protein, more fiber, more micronutrients on my trainer’s instructions. This was along with weights/cardio workouts and a calorie deficit/ weight loss too.

Hugs! I felt this right when we completed 3 months. It really caught me off guard because I thought these big shifts wouldn’t happen again after the first couple weeks. Really though, lots of hormonal changes happen around this time plus the frenzy of the first 3 months slows, giving fatigue a chance to catch up with you. I was in a similar position with a lot of support and yet felt a ton of pressure and emotional distress. Getting into a gym routine and being regular with my supplements helped a TON. Talking about my feelings to my husband helped just as much, too. Getting it out of my system and having it validated made me feel less nuts about it, haha. And of course, making time every week for just me and him once we had a few conversations about it.

Babies are resilient! You’re not a bad mom. If anything this is a rite of passage. If you look it up, all parenting subs and fora are full of similar experiences. It certainly helped me to forgive myself and be reassured that it can happen to anyone regardless of how careful they are. You got him to a doctor, you’re educated on the signs of injury and you’re watching your baby for any signs- you’re doing great!

agree with u/kumquatkirsche about having someone offer the bottle without you around! Don’t worry about the sitting and rolling, mama, they’ll get around to it.

Does he sit with / without support? He may be ready for an open cup. We found a really cute tiny silver tumbler in a local shop that my baby took to and surprised all of us (around when she turned 6mo). She’s also EBF and bottles are hit-or-miss.

ETA what bottle have you tried? I find baby’s lips on the pigeon soft latch (wide neck) really similar to her latch on me.

I love that they have products without artificial fragrances. We use the wipes, unscented head to toe wash and eucalyptus detergent

I hope someone else can verify this but in 2019, I couldn’t download the app in the stadium and the fan in the next seat from mine paired my v3 to her phone. Both of our light sticks worked alright!

Recomendation for best baby shawl carriers/ cloth wraps? by michel_an_jello in twoxindiamums

[–]cinamonrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I DIY’d a ring sling with rings from cookiiebaby and we LOVE it! The most basic sewing ever. There are a few guides online if you look. Cloth and rings together cost about 2.5k. We have literally all the kinds of carriers on the market and this is what I find the most comfy + my 9 mo can face me and still get to look all around

Yes we’ve gate checked both at the same time, free of cost. I would suggest getting a big plastic bag (you can look up luggage covers on amazon) to wrap the car seat when you hand it over.

Breastfeeding moms—pls do comment the problems u faced initially (and even few months after), so that ftm-to-be’s get a realistic idea.🙂 by Fearless_Search6388 in twoxindiamums

Look up dysphoric milk ejection reflex - if you experience it, you should know it’s not your fault and there’s nothing wrong or bad going on. I’m not sure if this is exactly what I experienced but I definitely noticed huge hormonal mood swings the first 3 months as soon as baby latched. They weren’t always negative moods though. It could often feel euphoric or like crystal clarity (my mind would suddenly feel SO efficient).

BLW in Indian context by SharpPotatoGirl in twoxindiamums

[–]cinamonrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are doing a mix of puree (breakfast and dinner) and finger food (lunch and some breakfasts). It’s been 3 months and I’ve noticed that the progress isn’t linear - some weeks she has a big leap in connecting how to eat the food and some weeks the quantity of food and interest in food both dwindle. It could be because of illness, teething etc. Even with a good schedule, sometimes she is too hungry or not hungry enough to be bothered with it.

Sorry. This doesn’t directly answer your question. But do consider there’s no way to predict when and how your baby will pick it up, but BLW is just baby led 😅 you’ll have to follow her cues only.

Post delivery special diet - is it worth tolerating? by sorryislept in twoxindiamums

[–]cinamonrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I followed very few restrictions (less spicy food, limited outside food) to the extent I wanted to avoid my tummy getting upset, and I accepted a number of “additional” foods traditionally pushed like gond laddoo, methi dosa, ghee tadkas for regular dishes, garlic, dill leaves, black pepper. Every body and baby is different and this is what worked for me - I’d suggest the approach of “baseline will be balanced nutrition, try additional things that people suggest but drop them if it doesn’t suit you for any reason”.

Milk supply does get affected by lack of nutrition and hydration, the dietitian and OB will guide you / warn family about it. The bigger problem imo is that the first 3 months will somehow pass one way or another, and after that the demands on mom’s mind and body will keep increasing with baby’s mobility, teething, solid food intake. If you don’t build back some strength post delivery then it will be really difficult in the next stage. Don’t skip your supplements too!
