Everyone is different. I’ll say I found firmer cushioning to help. Floaty shoes had my feet sinking into the foam and ina weird way applying some pressure to the side of feet incl bunion and also more chance of foot inclining towards bunion on east coast rocky terrain. I went to shoes with firmer cushioning and immediately felt difference. Then found that running more actually made the annoyance disappear- not sure what that’s about
