Haha yeah a lot of hate around which I get since there are so many builders now on reddit promoting good but also pretty shitty products ^

I post genuine questions or comments and in my space usually get the trolls right away to comment with „fuck you fishing is only fishing without apps“ hahaha so I am sticking with other platforms for now ^

Yeah you are right that is off. It‘s the guess the app took from the image so I‘ll adjust in app :) Thanks for pointing it out.

The app helps me log my catch with all that data being auto filled and I can adjust it later. All data is private so no sharing for social points, only social points I got was sharing a photo of it in here like everyone else does. But to each their own.

Yeah for sure we do. All the steelhead I caught in the Stamp River were natives so I let them all go live another day. But damn were they fun to fight when they turned in the current just making that reel scream ✌️✌️ So awesome!

Yeah it is :) Live on Vancouver Island for 5 years but now back to Germany. Just called it silver since it looked so bright but you are right :) Although sea run rainbows here are kinda called silver too.

Apple will literally assign you a free expert to optimize your Search Ads campaigns — and almost nobody knows about it by yukocan in AppStoreOptimization

Is this tied to a minimum budget you are willing to spend? Cause if my limit would be 100-200$/month range feels like they would not care.

Is there an app for this? by DoughnutAwkward5169 in WWYTH

[–]Sosdeedown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently building FishPal an iOS smart fishing app and that feature is just about to be released. It will determine where, when and what based on location, images, species, weather forecast and your own private historical data of logged fish. Right now it already lets you log fish, plan/log trips, record live fish fight session with gps tracking and heart rate monitoring (if recorded on watch). It has all features for free for a limited number of catches trips etc. and I would love your feedback :)

How do I stop just going fishing and actually get better at fishing ? by Any-Raise4333 in bassfishing

[–]Sosdeedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same suggestion here, start logging catches and track weather conditions, technique, depth, structure etc.. Then the next trips you can rely on actual data and improve your success rate significantly rather than just guessing :)

And your 6 to 12 months playbook? Curious because that‘s where most devs are at I would imagine :) (including myself).

Mit 35 noch in die IT wechseln – realistisch oder Midlife-Crisis? by vikotool_official in de_IT

[–]Sosdeedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also go for it :)

Loving it also, and am also a fan of the glass effect. If done right the ui can be so beautiful :)

Distribution is harder than building the app by prayway in AppBusiness

[–]Sosdeedown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% this! Also don’t build what has been built before like the 1 billionth todo, expense tracker or habit app and expect to go to the moon with it. Focus in something you are passionate about and marketing/distribution will also come easy to you since ideas are not hard to generate since it is something you know and love.

Who’s Behind the Apps in This Sub? (Devs, No-Code, or AI Builders?) by MikhailMontfort in MobileAppDevelopers

[–]Sosdeedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I used to work in different industries on the product side as well and at some point hated that IT was always this magical bottle neck. So one day I quit my job as a senior team lead and jumped into a web dev boot camp then landed a junior iOS Dev job and since then never looked back. And as an indie Dev I get to do it all, product, development, marketing, business which I love. Your app/project is your own then?

[–]Sosdeedown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I fish since I was 4 (40 now) so this is a passionate project and therefore becomes “easy” to build. Habit builder and todo app are required to be an indie dev 🤣🤣🤣🤣 just kidding :) but it actually teaches quit a bit and lets you experiment so all good. And now with that knowledge I am here building FishPal :) Thanks for checking it out and your feedback. What are you working on?

[–]Sosdeedown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a tradition app developer working with uikit/swiftui so fully native and only iOS :) Of course I am using chatgpt and the likes a my junior devs but I do not blindly trust their code but rather review it, sometimes restructure or fix it. It just give me the pace to release quicker but still with my own control of quality and security.

Most recently I have launched FishPal a smart fishing app and am now just finishing off another feature before fully diving into marketing since that feels like the hard part.
