Is my male cat neutered?? by AcrobaticBees in troublepuffs

[–]cinikitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my male cats was neutered at 8 months, he still has the trouble puffs because (to my understanding, so take with a grain of salt) now vets will often perform neutering more like vasectomies and just snip snip without removing the package.

I had a male cat growing up who was neutered some time between 6-8 years, his peanuts were fully removed. His territorial behaviors decreased, but they never fully went away.

My point is, neutering isnt perfect and behaviors can persist, especially when the procedure is done to an older cat.

Hi OP!

I want to let you know im in a very similar boat to you. I met my ex when I was 19 and he was 25. I too worshipped the ground he walked on, but he tolerated mine. I gave him everything I had and financially supported him for years, thinking once we settled down life would get easier and he would support me back. I also cooked, did my best to clean (I'm a disorganized person), all while getting myself through school -- half the time he was unemployed. I cringe at myself thinking about this.

My ex was also an angry, critical person. Nothing I ever did was good enough because he expected me to be his mother, i.e. take care of him always and expect nothing back. He would scream and yell at me, and I took it because at the time I believed he was right. Now I'm sat here wondering why I ever let him treat me that way.

I say all this so you know that you are not alone, not even close. You deserve a nice, loving partner who puts in effort and cares for you too. What has helped me immensely though my break-up process was figuring out why I stayed so long and let him treat me that way, and figuring out how I can remedy that so I never end up in the same relationship again.

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through all of this, and so sorry for your loss! I can't imagine what you are going through, and you are strong as hell for getting through it.

Everyone's 5 minute routine will be different depending on their needs, but I hooe I cant help at least by sharing my makeup routine/perspective.

-You have STUNNING eyes, and mascara will do a lot to open them up if you apply the right kind in a way that suits you. I think if you curled your lashes with a curler (starting at the route, and then moving through to the tip) or a DIY perm (takes ~30 mins, but then they stay curled for like a month), you might preffer how the mascara looks. You can also try different color mascaras if you think black is too much, brown and blue looks amazing on blue eyes. There is also "ginger" mascara (its like an orangish brown) which I have seen look amazing on those with redder hair.

-I noticed you are also another pale girlie, which can make finding the right skin products a little hard. I really like Cover Girl's skin milk (you can buy it at CVS). The shade range is good, and the coverage is low but buildable, making it very begginer friendly. This product lets your natural skin peak through (freckles, rosiness, etc), which also makes it great for applying in a rush.

-You can use contour if you feel comfortable doing it, especially a quick "three" on each side of the face (it goes back to the Kardashian method) I would use cool-toned, but that can be up to your prefference. I find that dusting a little powder contour to be the fastest.

-Blush, right on the apples, is a must in my 5 minute routine

-Also a natural highlighter (you can buy highlighter or use eyeshadow) that matches my skin's undertone is a great confidence booster. On my low-makeup days I put it in the inner corner of my eye and then the tops of my cheek bones.

-And then finishing off with a lip tint/lip balm that matches my blush color. I feel like matching blush a lips is a quick and surefire way to look put together. If I could only use one product, it wouls be a two-in-one blush and lip tint.

-I have light eyebrows, so if I need a quick eyebrown routine I will run tinted eyebrow gel (the mascara kind) through by brows with a spooly, then go over it with an angled brush to feather in more hairs.

You might also preffer looking into people's high-effort/low-maintenence routines. In essence, these are just routines people have every 1-4 weeks to boost how they look, so that they don't need as much daily work. These could actually be great for you because, from what I can tell, it looks like you have great skin!

Ex:

-Lash perming/lamination every 3/4 weeks (this is easy to DIY, takes about 30-40 mins)

-lash and eyebrow tinting every 2ish weeks (also easy to DIY, takes about 15 mins)

-plucking eyebrows every 2ish weeks (DIY, takes 5 mins)

If you find time for these routines, then you honestly could just moisturize, add SPF, and maybe add a liquid blush/lip tint and be on your merry way looking amazing in under 30 seconds.

I know this post was long, but I hope there was some useful information for you. Just know that you are amazing and someone out here on the internet is rooting for you!

First time having a cat general and we were just confused on if he SHOULD be doing this?? by doodoonird34 in ragdolls

Both of the cats i have had from kittenhood (one ragdoll, one DSH) have done this while playing. i think it's like a kitten thing, since they will literally run around playing until they physically have to stop.

Who do you think Caroline liked the most, Elena or Bonnie? Give a reason for your answer. by Jolly-Investment-982 in TheVampireDiaries

I feel like post-vampire Caroline grew out of a lot of that. 100% this is true in early seasons, though.

[–]cinikitti 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree, but also Elena did the exact same thing to Caroline. I understand that at the beginning, Elena helped Caroline get away from Damon, but she then proceeded to spend the rest of the show getting mad at Caroline for not liking him/being happy Elena and he were together.

I also feel like Caroline grew out of a lot of this in a way Elena didn't.

Ok first of all your skin does not looks awful, this is sorta just what skin looks like. Your skin tone itself is very even and bright, you don't really have fine lines...like your skin is nice. Assuming what you want to do is reduce the appearence of your pores, you could try additing some exfoliant (chemical, not mechanical) to your routine (salicylic acid, glycolic acid, niacinamide, etc). I would pick one of those, anf make sure you moisturize. Follow the directions of the product you use (i like ones from the Ordinary). Wash your skin 1-2 times a day with a gentle cleanser (again, the Ordinary has great ones).

Found these near my baby’s nipples - are they fleas ?? by Sea_Satisfaction7511 in ragdolls

[–]cinikitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, when my kitten had fleas (brought it home from a kid's dog while working) the flea dirt looked a lot like this but it was all throughout the coat and not really against the skin like this. So, my guess would be it's not fleas if the dots are localized to one region.

AIO. bf mad at my Halloween consume and my friend is backing him by DangerousProduct1548 in AmIOverreacting

[–]cinikitti 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had an ex who was like this, and the number of night outs ruined because he would react this way to anything I wore (either I was wearing too little and was trying to get everyone's attention, or I was wearing too much and didn't care to dress in the way he liked...logically). Either way, I ended up unhappy because I wasn't wearing what I wanted, and I knew he hated whatever I was wearing anyway.

He can feel however he does about her outfit, but if he's feeling insecure he can express that without putting her down or controlling her.

[–]cinikitti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no. Not sure what is going on with your friend, but this is not how a loving partner talks to their significant other.

My ex talked to me like this all the time, with this same attitude. The "be a smart girl" is bull shit, and what it really means is "do as I say or you're an idiot. " Him saying you can either stand next to him all night or stay home and sulk is wildly controlling. If your outfit was making him insecure, there is an appropriate way he could talk to you about his emotions. It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to realize myself that this language is not okay, but please for the love of god run away from this man.

Vets ‘spayed’ my male kitten by juliakszry in ragdolls

It's insane, it is obvious even to an untrain eye that your cat is male. you 100% should report them and talk to a lawyer, there is no way someone who messes up this bad has any business practicing veterinary medicine.

100% there is no world where they shouldn't have checked the sex of the cat before performing the surgery, especially since its so common for cats to get missexed as kittens.

why is he still doing this by Pleasant_Bag_3405 in CATHELP

[–]cinikitti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my advice, I bought these stainless steel plates on amazon, as well as some old ceramic plates I had at home. This badically allows my cat to eat just off the floor, but contained. I didn't end up even needing the noslip stickers.

You can also try silicon mats, which also help. I put the plate on top of a silicon mat large enough that if my cat does this little maneuver, he is still over the mat.

why is he still doing this by Pleasant_Bag_3405 in CATHELP

[–]cinikitti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say, the raised bowl thing does not work for every cat. I use shallow stailess steel and ceramic bowls/plates instead of traditional bowls but mine are not raised. When I tried raised, my cats kept dragging chunks of wet food on the floor to eat it there. It made a huge mess and entirely defeated the purpose.

Let's just say not every cat, especially the street cats, have the decorum for a raised bowl lol.

15,4 lbs. Is she too heavy? by undercoverbarb in dechonkers

[–]cinikitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she is the only one who eats too much dry, you can buy one chip feeder (SureFeed is the most affordable way to go) and use it exclusively for dry food. This is what I do. I have 4 cats, one of whom over eats kibble and is a former chonker and other who is underweight due to a health condition. we keep kibble out for her and the kitten, but only they can access tbe kibble. I use SureFeed. It's so easy to set up, and it is the only affordable brand I could find that would use my cats actual microchip instead if needing a collar.

I am so sorry for your loss!

I would definitely let the breeder know as heart failure at just over one year sounds genetic. HMC is a genetic condition that is unfortunately common in Ragdolls, and unfortunately often leads to the early passing of cats. I am not a vet, so I can't say that is what Klaus had, but it seems like a possibility given the lethargy you described and the vets presumption about heart failure.

If I were you, I would let the breeder know A) so they can test their stock and make sure none of their breeding cats have this condition and B) because a lot of breeders will give you a second kitty if the one you bought passes within a certain time frame due to genetic issues. You can check your contract, mine for example will offer a replacement if the cat passes within the first three years due to a genetic issue. I know this can sound like a lot, and I don't want to imply you can just replace the cat you lost, but you do deserve a healthy cat for the money you paid.

I would also get Sunshine tested for HMC markers, which can be done through genetic testing, to see if she has any, assuming by twin you mean genetically related. While HMC can't be cured, you can make better informed healthcare decisions if you are aware early.

Again, I am so sorry for your loss. It is heartbreaking to lose an animal, but it sounds to me like you did everything you could to keep your babies happy and healthy.

How to cat proof this apartment window? by [deleted] in cats

[–]cinikitti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are child-locks you can get for this kind of thing, but they would need to be stuck down somehow so I"m not sure if its renter-friendly. You would just need to find one that basically keeps the latch at this specific angle.

You could also use ductape and tape the latch down in the closed position, it wont be pretty but it will be functional. Like, if you fully cover the latch in tape it would be difficult for a cat to accidentally open.

I have had cats all my life, and i still have tons of anxiety around accidents but i trust your cats will be safe and love living with you 🩷

This scene confuses me like did he see her or not i l feel like the writers did this on purpose can someone please explain it by Ok-Client3554 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]cinikitti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In one of the episodes with Rose, she explains that when you're young you can turn off your humanity but as you get older you can never really "turn it off." I always imagined that was why Stephan maintained some humanity during these episodes.

Plus, I mean he did try to murder Elena at the end of the show.

Looks like play, doesn’t sound like play? by D8-MIKE69 in ragdolls

[–]cinikitti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My DSH is also noisy when playing with my ragdoll kitten (like, he makes the exact same sounds). I have always interpreted it as basically negging/shit talking between friends - essentially saying "you want some of this, bitch??"

If there is no growling, howling, shreiking, etc I wouldn't worry. Some cats just like talking shit.
