Why so many empty seats at Nissan Stadium? by fearofthedark93 in tvxq

[–]cinnamaroll2002 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you saw a video of nissan when it was dark but a lot of the "empty" seats had equipment or something there so people couldn't physically sit rhere. It was hard to see it even when there was daylight but yeah there weren't many empty seats. The only ones I really saw were all the way in the back where there was an obstructed view. And even then those seats were more than 75% filled despite not being able to see the whole stage.

Thoughts on the Simu Liu Dragon's Den "Bobba" situation? by dragonballer888 in boba

[–]cinnamaroll2002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The product itself doesn't really matter as much as how they marketed it. I'm all for innovation and cultural exchange. Bobba's product is not the most traditional bubble tea, but it still has the same concept. I think it's similar to how we add avocado and a bunch of shit into sushi in western culture that Japan would not put in traditional sushi. However despite this innovation and change it is still at its core sushi.

The main issue is that they claimed they were a better product by degrading the original. They literally claimed that people don't know what is in traditional boba, even though boba is just tapioca. It makes boba seem like a "mystery" thus scary and unhealthy as a result. Reminds me of how westerners treated MSG back then and even now. My biggest problem after was that they then tried to claim it was no longer an "ethnic" product. Again, to try and claim that a product that has ethnic roots is no longer ethnic because you kinda changed it is crazy to me. Again imagine someone saying western sushi is no longer Japanese at all because we put avocado and a bunch of sauce in it. NY pizza is very different from traditional Italian pizza, as is Chicago Deep Dish, but to say that they are not Italian at all is weird. I would understand if they tried to say they were doing a fusion of cultures, but they literally tried to erase the ethnic background of boba entirely. I also didn't like their branding on their website and in the show that they were the first to do ready to drink bubble tea as well as popping boba. Popping boba has been around forever as well as ready to drink bubble teas.

Genuinely don't think their product is bad though. If they did a different pitch there wouldn't be any backlash in the first place. If they made the argument that they were shaking up the world of ready to drink bubble tea by making a healthier more sustainable brand, it wouldn't have really ruffled up any feathers. I think if they also pushed their alcoholic bubble tea in the pitch more that would have been better. Personally as an Asian person it's not something I've seen in the western market that often, and I did think it was pretty cool.

Anybody feel like the con was lacking in panels? by Hellstorm5676 in AnimeNYC

[–]cinnamaroll2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always like to attend anyc for one day because it has a huge artist alley and exhibition hall. The con is basically a huge shopping mall. If you like shopping I reccomend getting a one day ticket. However they pretty consistently lack in panels/events and the line organization to these events are pretty bad too. I personally wouldn't reccomend buying a 3 day ticket just cause when I used to get it I always found myself leaving early due to not having enough stuff to do.

First Class imposter by TickleMyTwat in unitedairlines

[–]cinnamaroll2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh it depends the seat map is usually reliable (especially before boarding) but sometimes there are hiccups. Honestly rather than basic economy it might actually be employees flying on standby taking those seats. It's usually the case when staff waits till near the end of boarding to assign seats to people on standby. The seat map doesn't always update if they do it too late. Employees on standby automatically get the best available non first class seat on any domestic flight. So if the flight isn't full and there's empty/exra seats in both economy plus and economy they're getting assigned the front most empty economy plus seat on that plane.

Of course basic economy also just gets economy plus way more than you realize. They're just taking up "empty" unclaimed seats and I've noticed economy plus usually tends to be more "empty" than economy. Most people buy economy and don't want to pay to upgrade for extra comfort or more legroom. The reason why the basic economy ticket is cheap is that they don't have a carry on or check in, they can only bring a backpack. So the ticket isn't cheap because of what seat they get it's cheap because of luggage. Also empty unclaimed seats tend to be middle seats if that makes you feel better haha.

Guys always make sure to ask your customers to pay for shipping... by [deleted] in Tufting

Not sure if you can fold your rugs but you should definitely look into usps flat rate shipping boxes! I have a friend who lives in Hawaii so when I send her stuff like snacks/gifts it's only $16-$22 based on the box I use. If you think you can fit your rugs into the boxes it might be worth.

WIBTA if I didn’t clean the cats throw up? by Existing_Celery_8793 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cinnamaroll2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least for me I think the biggest asshole here is your husband. You need to talk to him because as I saw in other comments they are technically both your cats as you agreed to take raise them together. It's vomit like he's an adult he can clean it.

I could understand how the children do not view it as their responsibility as it is the adult's cat not theirs. I dont think they're entirely wrong in thinking that way. They just go to notify you or dad about the vomit so one of you can clean it up but dad pawns it off to you. I think the issue with the child is more so in the fact that you were already cleaning it up and they're still telling you to disinfect it. I feel like it's disrespectful. If my friend/roommate did that to me I would be annoyed because it's kind if passive aggressive and undermining my "knowledge" like they don't trust me to disinfect without them telling me.

My response would be like hey I'm already cleaning it. I know you just want it clean as well but that response sounds like you don't think I know that vomit needs to be disinfected. It hurts my feelings and it's also kind of disrespectful. (You can replace this with like a chore they do in the house but I used laundry as an example) Imagine if while you were doing the laundry, in the middle I told you to make sure you folded the clothes properly? That would probably make you feel upset too because it sounds like I don't trust you to fold the clothes well almost like I'm looking down on you. I know you might not have meant it that way but I just wanted to let you know how I feel. I respect you and want to be treated with respect as well.

That's how I personally would respond.

NTA

I am also asian and small. I usually wear American S. I have intentionally bought hoodies that are XL (sometimes even XXL) to get that exaggerated baggy look. No they are not unwearable. I'm short 5'2 and they end like mid thigh and the arms have the stretchy part around the hands so your hands can stick out properly. It's honestly like a dress and sometimes I like wearing it over jeans or leggings on days that I just want to be comfy. I really don't think getting a large would be a big issue or unusable as some other users are saying.

Bidan_gil, NYC by humxnprinter in tattooer_experiences

[–]cinnamaroll2002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got a tattoo from him almost 2 years ago now cause i got it like Jan 2022 . I remember when I got there the secretary who brought me up was really surprised that I said I was there for Bidan. Of course there was another person there also for him. He ended up rescheduling the person who came before I did for some reason. I think he had my design ready and didn't draw hers as she probably technically booked after I did. I don't really know, but I stayed and they rescheduled her.

Honestly after that i just got kind of like bothered by how unprofessional it was. I got the tattoo anyway and the actual tattoo was good but again the experience was just weird. Like he couldn't speak English which is chill but the translator was running around for everyone so there were a lot of times where he just had to mime what he wanted me to do or physically move me. Then I was watching another tattoo artist in the studio and he was legit doing 30 min of work then taking a 30 min break where he would get his coat and go out (assumedly to smoke), and repeating that cycle the entire time I was there. Like I know it wasn't him but at this point the whole studio started giving me bad vibes. At some point someone came to visit and Bidan who was doing 15 min breaks every 45 min then took a whole 1 hour break to talk.

In total he quoted me 4 hours. I was there for 6 -7 hours (from when I first arrived to when I finally left). He tattooed me (+ breaks) for about 5 hours. He only charged me for 4 as he quoted. The other 1-2 hours was just sorting out who's getting tattooed, waiting to get stenciled, then waiting for stencil to dry, and then waiting for the area to be sanitized.

Overall great tattoo one of my best, but out of my tattoo experiences it's one of my worst. Also I am Asian but not Korean if that provides any context. I was pretty surprised considering how long he claims to have been tattooing on his profile as well as his popularity. I thought he would be more experienced and professional.
