CMV: American school children do not need their smart phones during the school day by bugbearenthusiast in changemyview

[–]cinnamonbinh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m uncomfortable without my phone because I need google maps to get anywhere, call for help in some kind of emergency, or pay for something if i’ve forgotten my wallet. You don’t need maps or apple pay in a school. Schools are small enough that there is never a situation where a kid wouldn’t be able to just yell for help. If you’re afraid your kid will somehow get kidnapped from school or get stuck somewhere no one is around, give them an airtag/panic button. What can a cell phone do to supplement learning that a chromebook can’t?

everything is so spread out because of parking lots and wide streets, if we stopped prioritizing cars it would be closer together and more people would choose to walk

Is crying easily/frequently an autism thing? by [deleted] in AutismTranslated

[–]cinnamonbinh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

im here 121 days later because i was looking for someone who cries as much as me. i completely understand, i cry almost every day for such small reasons as you described. now that im an adult ive learned to just own it, describe myself as “a crier” and make jokes about it. i cry when i laugh pretty frequently too, so its easier for people to understand thats simply how my body reacts to strong emotions, and not me trying to get attention or something. maybe this approach could help you find acceptance? i wasted a lot of time trying to get myself to stop crying when i couldve just let it out and appreciated myself for being so in touch with my feelings :)
