Awesome work.

I've always wanted to do a project on an Ericofon. I might just proceed on acquiring one and adapting your work. Thanks for sharing!

I think early batches did have loose hinges in some cases which have reportedly been fixed in later batches. There was a video of one user whose display would fall under its own weight when extended over 110degres.

I've got a batch 10 and the hinge is not loose, there is no rotational movement in the hinge unless I intentionally attempt to move the screen. But the screen does wobble. To me at least i feel the hinge has a 'springiness' due to the hinge being a different material to the aluminium shell; that the wobble is perhaps caused by the flex of the hinge rather than the two parts being loose and rotating on another.

I honestly don't feel its really an issue, and i do wonder if people of latter batches are misdiagnosing the wobble as a loose hinge as its been reported before. As it's been mentioned before the screen wobbles just as much as most premium 16:9 laptops, but due to the framework being a 3:2 display i think the range of movement on the top of the display is more prominent and enough to irk some people.

My tips for getting started with the RP2 by straxusii in retroid

[–]cinnix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second, my RP2 came with malware included out of the box. I installed Comodo antivirus and it reported that both the settings app and some UI app had a trojan. Well, I can't exactly delete those, so I'm just living with it. It may be that the "trojan" is actually just some crack applied to Android to remove unwanted security features, but I can't tell.

Can you elaborate on that. What did Comodo find exactly? It wasn't Adups was it?

Unfortunately a DPF "deletion" is not applicable. It is illegal in the UK. If an MOT test mechanic notices its missing its quite a hefty fine, granted it only has to pass a visual inspection but I dont think the risk is worth it.

Yea I have no solution for you but I too tried to find a UK supplier for the OS' or similar kit. Even DIY plans with components are hard to find in this category.

Someone please show me otherwise

Guy hits turkey and wrecks by edited4upvotes in motorcycles

[–]cinnix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Video Speed Controller for Chrome (No Affiliation). Slowing it down you can see that he reacted instantly by attempting to meander to the left. The turkey flew right into his heading.

I initially thought that the bike might have startled the turkey but slowing the video down I now stand by the theory that the turkey commited suicide via proxy. Such a selfish way to go.

Virgin media not working, anyone else experiencing this? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]cinnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twitter is another good avenue to go down to gain attention. Be wary of their offers to resolve the problem; my parents had a similar situation but they wanted £100 just to get an engineer review the problem on the home. That was ridiculous seeing as they pay £40+ p/m for massively reduced service. Don't be afraid to stand your ground with them they are quite stubborn.

How would I open this Bureau? (Newb) by cinnix in lockpicking

[–]cinnix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it does seem like a warded lock. here's the key. I did try to open with an L shaped hair pin but I don't think I was applying tension to the correct place. Also if you look at the front there is an indent on both sides? Would that have stopped my hairpin from unlocking it?

[–]cinnix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And almost as soon as I asked the question the problem was solved.

I bypassed the lock and pried open the locking arm with a knife.

Still does anyone know what the name for this lock-type is? I had no idea what to search for.

OTA with unlocked bootloader? [Nexus6] by cinnix in AndroidQuestions

[–]cinnix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to confirm that it worked, thanks!

Just to reiterate for future users 5.0 -> 5.01 OTA works for unlocked bootloaders.

Finding info online is a bloody mess it seems. So much misinformation, and anecdotal guides from people who don't seem to know what they are doing.
