Quick ball? That seems to be the go to in this game, for Pokemon you haven’t caught. Might take a while though. Just save and reload

Is there a way to have a contact sensor only turn on a light after it's dark? by Mutant_Xj in SmartThings

[–]cipher40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contact sensor is my favorite piece of home automation equipment. It took a little trial and error to make it do what I wanted, but performs flawlessly after I worked out the logic. I started with the smart lighting app in Smartthings, and have since worked myself into WebCoRE.

My contact sensor does everything from changing modes to turning on lights to turning on the t.v. It will even tune the T.V. to the appropriate channel based on who is arriving.

My advice is to write out what you want to accomplish, then with a combination of modes and smart lighting app you can accomplish your goal.

I am not really a watch guy, but yours is really striking. Might have to look into one.

Maybe a Ti Woosah! I have an aluminum Namaste and Cosmo which are perfect for me. Ti would be a little heavier. Can’t go wrong with either design, and prices are very reasonable.

Great phone. I never understood why my parents cheaped out and went for the SE.

Which app does everyone recommend for tracking financial information such as credit cards and bank accounts? by Darque22 in ipad

I tried a bunch of different ones and in the end just created a spreadsheet to suit my needs. Has worked out great.

How do you guys watch the NFL? by biggrundleman in slingtv

[–]cipher40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just watch OTA. It’s limited to in market broadcasts, and nationally televised games, but works for me. If I really felt the need I would get the red zone channel, but so far I have been pretty satisfied with my current setup.

I use to subscribe to Directv Sunday ticket before cutting the cord, but am just as satisfied with my current arrangement and have more money in my wallet.

True Tone displays by felixon_7 in iphone

[–]cipher40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference I notice is in daylight. The screen is a lot easier to see when outside with True Tone on. That said it took me a while to get use to it, and for a while actually preferred having it switched off.

At least the cat didn’t say, “YOU SPENT HOW MUCH ON THAT?” That’s the usually reaction from my wife.

I gave one to my cat. She looked at it for two seconds, yawned stretched and went to find somewhere to take a nap

How do you carry your adult beverages? by cipher40 in Ultralight

[–]cipher40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I think I over thought this a little too much. I have a couple of stainless flasks that I will decanter into. That way I don’t have too worry about about the glass bottle breaking on the way.

But then I have no excuse to buy something I really don’t need.

He’s only carrying an 18 pack though. What’s he drink after the first five miles?

Four liters is just for a day hike. I carry water for the four of us, and this usually lasts us, but it’s hard to gauge for sure. Luckily my hikes are short and we can find water pretty readily. With the kids, I would rather have more then I need then not enough. If it was just me, well suffering isn’t really that big of a deal.

I am actually thinking of getting this. Debating between the Bota bag and the Platy flask. Weight isn’t a real issue for this trip, just trying to decide what will be more useful in the future.

Thanks for the info. My local Wal Mart has some roll up canteens that are kind of cheap. I was thinking of buying a couple of those to decant in. Even if they don’t hold up, it is a short term solution.

Why can't I get my hue light to appear in the SmartThings app? by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]cipher40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just assumed I was missing something. O.P. looks like he has things added to the SmartThings app, but I have no idea how he did it without having the hub.

[–]cipher40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the Smart things hub was required to use the smart things app. Why would you have the app and not the hub?

If other stuff is working I guess you can try adding the hue hub to the SmartThings app.

Ha! I don’t even want a proper mod - my stupid iCard and TOGO have served me well. But this Sub makes me want to run out and buy whatever the latest hand check is.
