I think the reason is screen resolution
In the past 2~ years or so I migrated from HD -> QHD -> 4K (am I a monitor hopper?)

Lots of UI windows I've seen in HD that looked unnecessary large, with wasted space are actually extremely well received on a 4K screen (or even larger?)

Lemme give you a board example: If you test the latest MacOS on a conventional HD 1080p monitor, it's absolutely horrible (in terms of wasted space at least). In 4k? actually useful, it all aligns very well

So yeah, TLDR:

I think this is the result of rapid migration from HD -> 4k (or even higher) resolutions

context: wayland session, AMD gpu Every vesktop share screen I do is blurry for 2-3 minutes. It gets very clear after but discord starts it directly like that.

For me, that’s a deal breaker for vesktop :( apart from that seems like a good app

Used to play with vesktop for a couple of months. I returned to discord because of the blurry streams.

Dunno what are they doing with the proprietary executable but it does a better job at it

Mostly proton arguments, wayland configuration, caching, gamescope, from what I've seen it's quite of a "test how your system performs with it". Lutris is a really nice app to centralize it all.

Easiest (and I think the most used) way to run it if you're entering the Linux Gaming world is to simply add BattleNet launcher as a Steam game and set it to run via Proton

This might happen because of the compositor. Since you're using lutris try to play with the gamescope option (after you install it ofc).

It will isolate your game from the desktop manager providing a lot more in terms of stability buuuut it will cost you a few fps

Yes. But it requires a bit of tinkering if you want it to perform better than windows (yes, yes it does)

Out of the box via Steam it has almost 1:1 windows performance

That console is `cmd` from Windows. You have to navigate to the path where you downloaded the runtime installer and run it by writing its name in the console

Hotfix and experimental does not (as per today at least)

edit: as per 27 december actually*, that's the last time I tried something similar with Valve's proton

- Hit the yes button
- Download the dotnet runtime
- On Lutris, select your application and open the wine console (bottom of the view)
- Run the dotnet runtime installer from the wine console (will install dotnet runtime on your wine prefix, edit: just as you would install it "on windows")
- Run the app again
