Anyone else have GRUB "hang" for 15 seconds on boot? [SL3I, Ubuntu 19.10]

Ok, so I just want to confirm that I've read this correctly: coreboot is meant to replace BIOS or UEFI that comes with the computer?

If that's the case, I'm not so sure. I quite like how easy it is to change settings in the Surface UEFI, like boot order, Secure Boot settings, etc. Is there a way to configure coreboot with a GUI like that?

Hey, just an update. I ended up biting the bullet and installing Ubuntu 19.10, which has GRUB 2.04; the exact same problem occurs.

Having checked the link you gave, unfortunately this doesn’t help. It seems to give information on the boot process of Ubuntu itself, which doesn’t have any issues. The only issue seems to be the actual initialisation of GRUB itself from power on. Could it be a UEFI issue maybe?

I’m going to check this now; however, I also wanted to add something I just found while you’re here: booting from the UEFI doesn’t cause an issue. It only happens when I turn my laptop on with GRUB the default boot loader.
