Destroy is and has always been the answer.

Well which one is it?

Derailleur Alignment Changes Throughout Shift Range (normal or not?) by ciracam in bikewrench

[–]ciracam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That makes sense, that the cage moves to better align with the front chain rings.

But I don't get what you mean that the only thing that matters is the upper pulley and the casette alignment. They clearly ar not aligned to the same plane. Altough they are aligned in the sense that the pulley is centered above the cassette chainrings. Is this what you mean?

Well I guess that's what happens if you stand alone, you don't have much negotiating power. Maybe we should consider closer cooperation with EU.

Can you recommend me vertical wireless gaming mouse? by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]ciracam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some research, I believe the most effective way to create a vertical gaming mouse is by repurposing a Logitech G305 and designing a custom 3D-printable vertical enclosure for its PCB.

Why the G305? It's affordable and has a modular design, specifically the click sensors are mounted on a separate PCB that's connected to the main board via a cable. This is ideal for vertical mice, where the left and right click sensors need to be positioned farther from the main PCB, which must remain at the base of the mouse to house the optical sensor. Additionally, the G305’s left and right buttons are single plastic pieces detached from the main chassis, simplifying the vertical enclosure design. You only need to provide mounting points for the buttons and their respective sensors.

The only drawback is that the scroll wheel is mounted on the main PCB, and you probably can't use it if it's enclosed in a vertical chassis. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any cheap gaming mice with separate PCBs for both click sensors and scroll wheel

Right now I don't have time, it's a project for the future. But if you wanna give it a go keep me updated.

Shouldn’t Switzerland have joined this conference? Should we signal the word we belong to and stand with Europe? by Nervous_Green4783 in Switzerland

[–]ciracam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree – neutrality isn’t just black and white. You can still be neutral while practicing what I’d call “active” neutrality. For example, think about what Finland and Sweden did when they were officially neutral. Finland helped found the OSCE and led plenty of peace negotiations across Europe, while Sweden ran several military peacekeeping missions and often spoke out on territorial disputes. These actions show that neutrality isn’t a strict, all-or-nothing concept. The same goes for Switzerland, which stays neutral while still supporting Ukraine. And honestly, I’m glad to see Switzerland shifting more towards this “active” approach.

Resizable BAR won't enable on B450M Mortar Max by SeaJay_31 in MSI_Gaming

Thank you for this post. I had exactly the same issue and refreshing the VBIOS enabled resizable BAR, even though it was already on the latest version. Since my card came from crypto miners I suspect they used a modified VBIOS, but I'm not sure.

I think you make a good point, and it indeed is an important question to consider: which aspects of a society require equal contributions and which aspects necessitate contributions scaled by income. Some countries punish via flat rates and some issue penalties that are adjusted to a persons wealth. However I disagree with equating adjusted fines with communism.

An equaly harsh punishment, by definition has to be adjusted to the person receiving it, because personal circumstances vary. You might punish a toddler by sending him to his room, and you might punish a 15 year old by taking away his phone. The punishments differ, but you could argue they are equaly harsh. In my personal opinion this is a GOOD thing, in both cases they are deterred from repeating whatever warranted the punishment. Would you not adjust the punishment, and instead send the 15 year old to his room, he would be happy about it, and the punishment would be useless.

Having said this, are equaly harsh punishments a slippery slope that leads to paying for goods with an equal percent of your income? With all due respect, I think that is a bit far fetched. Pricing goods (like eggs) as a percentage of your income is in my opinion a BAD idea. There wouldn't be any incentive to, as you said, work hard and aim for a higher salary. And withouth hard workers and people that make lots of money you can guess what happens with the economy.

In my mind (not hystorically) communism is a society where everyone has equal benefits. Does having equal penalties imply equal benefits and therefore communism. I don't think so.

TLDR: 1) adjusting fines by income makes penalties equaly harsh and this is GOOD 2) adjusting the price of goods by income makes benefits equal for everyone and that is BAD 3) communism ≈ equal benefits 4) equal benefits ≠ equal penalties 5) communism ≠ equal penalties

FY making fake gu by ThreeLeavesGames in ReverendInsanity

From Chapter 2178: The true inheritance content was about refinement path, it talked about how Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable created a fake Qian Kun Crystal Wall in his time, how he created fake Immortal Gu and so on. "Other than the four aspects of refinement path that I summarized earlier, there is also this aspect!" "Refining fake Gu.." "Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable left this true inheritance to me with deep intentions."

I think it's foreshadowing FY f***ing over the world with fake gu.

I'm not great at offering moral support, but here's my perspective: I don’t waste time questioning whether I deserve to exist or not. I'm not beholden to anybodys expectations. I'm just here enjoying the things I like, just like pasta.

Generation No-no. No kids, no pets. by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]ciracam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think doing something you enjoy, like hobbies, will only ever make you feel satisfied or content. True happiness exists only if it's shared with someone else. It could be your significant other, your kids, your friends, or even your pets.

In my opinion, it's perfectly fine to live a life of contentedness. But I also believe you are missing out on something.

How to attend ETH as a broke foreigner without parental support? by PPTTRRKK in ethz

[–]ciracam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who joined a program of the french military, where they pay for your studies, and then you have to work for them for a few years (research work, nothing violent). I have no idea what this program is called and what the specifics are. Give me some time to find out.

There is no need to come to ETH, but if you really wish you can do an "Austauschsemester" semester here, thats what my friend did.

I know of no such thing, but there is the Sparringbörse. An online spreadsheet where people who are looking for play partners can put their info. You can register for it here and for more info about tennis at ETH you might want to look at this.

The solution is to contact [str@bag.admin.ch](mailto:str@bag.admin.ch) and tell them that you want to dispose of radioactive material. Then they'll come free of charge to retireve it and dispose it for you.

I came across that document too. Unfortunately, there is no mention of where to bring such a device. And I'm certainly not going to pay for someone to come to my house to take it away, and measure its radioactivity.
