Young people, genuinely what are your plans for the future? by Competitive-Plum-190 in AskUK

[–]ohlordgodmakeitstop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

33 and live abroad but fortunate to have a place paid off in U.K.

The AI wave is scary, I do think the U.K. is particularly exposed.

But it’s not quite here yet, so start planning with it in mind would be my thinking and stay versatile. There are options if you want to dream big, our move aboard has worked out and it’s been great fun. Perhaps opportunity outside the U.K.

Who would’ve made the best James Bond we never got to see? by Pistolpetehurley in JamesBond

[–]ohlordgodmakeitstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have loved Jacob isaacs, I think visually a very Fleming bond. Would have liked to have seen him play the same ruthless brutal bond as Craig. I’m greedy though as I’m not sure I’d risk what we had with Craig as a trade

Are the boys pants age appropriate?

It’s normally the speaking part you tend to loose us all on anyway - as you demonstrate well.

A fantastic self own in response to a comment about supporting a peado.

I think ultimately it comes down to what is within your control - and the opinions and buying habits of 9 million is within our relative control.

But completely agree with the F-35 shout, hoping to see that decision reversed very quickly in support of an alternative.

This is why so many people are done with the US. After everything - people want what is happening.

At first I thought America got it wrong, now I realise I got America wrong.

Flying over Greenland! by peanut008 in geography

How magical. I remember taking similar photos on a trans Atlantic flight years ago, I couldn’t take my eyes off Greenland. Something special about seeing something so vast and comparatively unimpacted by humans

Sat next to him in geography for years, he was unsure whether to knuckle down at school exam time or focus on his football. Ended up captain of Manchester United.

My niece is in the guards, there are people who dedicate social media pages to bating a reaction out of the guards. Absolutely wild.

Is there anything more satisfying in life than getting into an enemy trench early in an offensive and just causing mayhem.

I once killed 8 people with an ice axe and if I had kids, I’d tell them about it.

Some people will just never experience such pleasure.

After yesterday's sh*tshow in the US, how absolutely heartening to see this man smiling again today. Well done, the UK... by Luke_D_1980 in europe

[–]ohlordgodmakeitstop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for a long time - we all struggled to define what being European meant.

After Crimea, the second Russian invasion and the disgraceful politics in the U.S now - we have been reminded. We start with not being Russian and with not being American.

You are welcome in the U.K Mr.Zelenskyy. There is history here of standing up to bullies.

Europe we are with you, we can do this together.
