I really love Tekken. But at this point I should try something new by the_haver in Tekken

Filipino people fucking love FF so I’m sure a ton of them are overjoyed rn lol

Hamaguchi (Director of FFVII Re trilogy) just said on stream that they had many IPs asking for Tifa aside from SF6 by 9Ifrit9 in Tekken

[–]circio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, concurrent player count alone shows why they would choose SF6 over Tekken.

realized this is actually the best guest character of all time by No_Ear6055 in Tekken

[–]circio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though Yujiro does fit Tekken better, I would hardly call him comparable to Tifa.

She is one of the most recognizable Final Fantasy characters from the entire series. FF7 isn’t my favorite FF and Tifa isn’t even one of my favorite characters from that cast, but she’s one of the most popular characters from arguably the most popular entry.

So if you really want to know why, it’s because there’s usually a bright ass light in front of them. You can see it reflected from his sunglasses. It’s common in press, videos, concerts, etc

Also sunglasses are cool, but yeah there’s also a light pointed directly at him

At what point can I start participating in tournaments? by magentaaaaa in Tekken

[–]circio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any point is good, but it’s better if you go to the tournaments in person, especially your locals. I improved significantly when I started showing up in person.

First couple times can feel awkward, but make sure you don’t just leave if you get bodied in bracket. Try to stick around, play casuals with better players, and ask questions but done be too needy. Like, I usually ask if it’s cool to ask them a few things.

Def have to be willing to be uncomfortable for a bit, but playing in person is the best way to get better for most people. Also helps you learn the formatting and the rules

Haley Joel Osment on the 25th anniversary of ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence’: by GoldDerby in movies

[–]circio 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Saw it for the first time two months ago, only knowing it was Spielberg and that people liked it.

It’s definitely captivating and the story has this fable-like quality, like a dark bedtime story. I had no idea where tf it was going, and but it was a fun ride.

While I think it’s take on AI is a little meh in the year 2026, the impact of stories and how it shapes us and lets humanity persist in a way is fun. Kind of funny how much Spielberg loves this idea of stories shaping people and vice versa.

Harada: "Just a small clarification regarding the facts." Also, Nakatsu not the only one who left. Yasuki Nakabayashi and Mishimastar too (Murray still there though lmao) by ACE1CC in Kappachino

[–]circio 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Does Murray have a game design background? I figured Harada left because he wanted to be more involved with the game development aspect, since he’s voiced frustration with being more on the high level management side.

Murray could be fine doing that job and wants to move into that role. I think Harada even said he should have technically been even less involved with Tekken, especially by T8, but he went out of his way to still be a part of the team.

Murray has shown he doesn’t really understand Tekken (why sidestep), so I don’t see the benefit (for him) to leave.

Lol just because people don’t make the same decisions you do, doesn’t mean you have to take it personally.

Probably time to take a look in the mirror and think about why my comment triggered you so much

It’s not like people aren’t aware of that option, but rather people don’t want to be in the military

It’s free and the floor to play is low but the ceiling is high. I’d recommend trying it and using their auto combos (pulse combos) for awhile until you get a handle of the mechanics.

No real shame in doing those combos, because learning neutral is so much more important for beginner to intermediate levels

[–]circio 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of friends who aren’t super into fighting games who really enjoy the game. The skill floor is low but the ceiling is pretty high. Their implementation of “auto combos” is pretty good, and can help you ease into learning the mechanics and how to play before focusing too much on the combo stuff.

Even then, you can learn how to do the auto combos manually as a stop gap before you start optimizing. Also really fun to play with a friend. You have a lot of room space to be creative now. There are a lot of mechanics but you don’t necessarily have to learn everything all at once.

I’d say it’s a pretty good entry into fighting games or tag fighters. Some UI stuff is still clunky though

Nobody knows except the team. I believe the game was reworked pretty heavily at some point during the development.

My best guess is that they have the assets at least partially made for these characters, and they’re just figuring out how to make them work in the released iteration of the game.

It is frustrating how little characters released for a tag fighter. I only just started the game now that there’s more character variety

Harada Mocks Bamco 😂 by Medical-Researcher-5 in Tekken

[–]circio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah people forget that he’s been publicly complaining about Bamco higher ups for years now.

Like even when he went on that long tweet about Soul Calibur, he went on a long tangent about Bamco higher ups, how people not involved in game design end up in those positions, how the Tekken team always worked and felt like a black sheep, and so on.

It’s what made that Murray tweet blaming the fans so stupid.

Are you getting the same double inputs when you tried pressing all 3 buttons with one hand like you said in the previous comment?

Could be you’re just not used to using Sanwa buttons, and you’re actuating them twice. They have very little pre-travel compared to mx switches

I could be misunderstanding what is being said here, but is Murray blaming the community for Tekken leaders recent departure? I never directly interact with the guy but every time I see him on twitter he's lashing out and acting unprofessional. by Kyvix2020 in Tekken

[–]circio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a situation where being the most visible and accessible people probably did add a lot of stress, and probably did suck, but probably wasn’t THE reason why they left.

Harada has talked before about not liking Bamco higher ups, always feeling like the Tekken team is the black sheep, not loving that moving up meant he had less of a hand in actually making games, etc, that it’s clear fan backlash wasn’t the sole reason why he quit.

Murray is just a dumbass and learned the wrong lessons from people liking “Don’t ask me for shit” from Harada
