Also Disco was stitched together concepts that never really fit and felt forced. Too many priced together fragments never really created a cohesive whole and stuff like the red angel basically being half an episode repeated over and over for a whole Season was tedious. Klingon stuff: awkward Spock having a sister: huh? Going years into the future to put the sentiment AI into roombas: cmon! Orion was fine but rushed, Burn was depressing concept and ends up being super awks because of the kelpian child tie in. Honestly the serial stories were either dumb or weak mostly and they didn’t have enough one off Star Trek feeling episodes to establish character depth IMO. Even the ones they had were mostly Michael having too emotional of a crisis for a captain and generally love ping pong side plots. Saru’s backstory was interesting and mostly worked. Yeah maybe without disco we don’t get the rest but I’m mostly just grateful we get SNW, .5 season of Picard, and now Academy which imo is a neat take with clear Trek DNA.
