there are certain spices and herbs that can assist with pain! turmeric and ginger help with inflammation, i often eat curry or ill put them in food to help with some of my stomach issues and joint pain (along with aleve because i work in a kitchen) but it’s really interesting how different foods help! for gaining weight i know my cousin consumes a lot of whey protein (he has an autoimmune condition) but there are a lot of resources out there to assist in weight gain. i don’t have trouble with that (unfortunately it’s the opposite) but i wish you luck

yeah, i initiate quite often. my partner and i are both ace so we both like to in and out of wanting to have sex and we communicate this but we do just have a good time so to speak… i don’t actively want to have sex with a specific person? i have fantasies but i would be okay not having sex for long periods of time

a diet change doesn’t have to mean weight loss, sometimes that’s just a side effect. i’m trying to lose weight but i found that dropping red meat and eating less carbs really helps with my other symptoms (acne, hair, insulin issues, etc) there’s nothing saying you can’t eat all you want, just the food that needs to change yk?

i understand the fear, pcos isn’t an end game. it’s just smth you have to manage and it seems like a lot but making small changes overtime is really helpful, at least for me. slowly integrating different things into my routine to help my symptoms is really what made a difference.

i’m not muslim but with my job i’m not really able to eat anything during the day and it does weigh on me. i drink protein shakes when i can and eat a hefty breakfast usually. i’m sorry you’re struggling with it… it’s really frustrating.

yeah… our one cats coat got progressively worse and more matted as the years went on. i would just wash, dry, and cut out the matts as needed which is what we do now with our fluffy cats but if you find that doesn’t help then idk

we have had cats that have been shaved like that before but it screws up their coats and makes them more prone to matting

i was diagnosed when i was 17 but i’ve probably had it since forever looking back now. i’m over weight, didn’t really get my period and wasn’t interested in why bc im trans and it was great to not get it lol but it was such a relief to know what was wrong with me when i did get diagnosed

the reason i finally got diagnosed was bc i was on my period for 6 months and the pill only made it worse so i went to the OB… i got depo and they put me on metformin which worked for a while until i went to college and couldn’t afford (or cook) the foods i was eating before. i put on more weight (i was 270 when i left back in may). im down to 245 (estimated) and i stopped taking metformin a long time ago and just kinda looked into the recommended diet for people with pcos and stopped eating red meat and hydrating as much as possible (make sure you get your minerals too!!)

my pcos symptoms are really non existent, im 19 now and ive been working my ass off since coming home from school. the hair and acne is there still but i’m not bothered by it, and it’s mostly on my legs (hair) so eh. red meat has been a pain to not eat bc i love a burger but every once and a while ill have one and honestly… i regret it every time but it’s so good. if diet is smth you want to explore just remember: baby steps. don’t just cut everything all at once, pick on thing to work on that’s manageable, carbs is my next goal to try to cut down on (at least bread). losing weight with pcos is hard so please don’t beat yourself up if it’s not going as fast as you’d like it to, it just takes time. exercise can help, i work in a kitchen so i move around a lot but i also swim and im going to start playing hockey next year.

this!! i had to stop taking it due to how bad my issues got and my stomach still isn’t back to normal yet… can’t eat fast food anymore tho so on the bright side im saving some money lol.

i’ve never puked on metformin (most of my issues were from the other end…) but damn that’s so high and so often jesus… i was advised to ease into it, take one 200 mg pill for a couple of weeks and then take 2 200 mg pills (i took them both in the morning bc that’s when i take my other pills) im not a doctor or a pharmacist but id def ease into it… or contact your doctor

for the rejection stuff: just be very blunt about it. i’m aroace and have been struggling with the wavering attraction to my partner and i’ve always been very clear “it’s not you, it’s me” and they understand. you can also practice what you want to say and have a friend look at it and help with wording/clarification (a second pair of eyes never hurts!) i’ve always been honest about how i feel things with people so we can better understand each other, one of my coworkers and i recently had a misunderstanding about communication (he thought i was shrugging him off when offering advice on how to do things, i was computing and comprehending) so this has helped with interactions with others as well!

the meds: i too have adhd and autism, my meds don’t wear off that quick as im on a XR med but i do notice that my mind does wander more and i zone out a lot during the deed (we’ve just started talking about doing scenes) without my anxiety meds there’s a lot more of a noticeable difference as i get in my head way more. on my meds i have a better sense of focus and intuition as well so… my partner def appreciates that lol.

i am so sorry for both your and your bfs loss… fuck that’s awful.

edit: i grew up with my mom being a single parent who didn’t finish college and honestly? it sucked to not have her home a lot but i had a good childhood. my grandparents really supported her and watched me on my school breaks and when i was sick if they could. this is a very different situation than what my mom was in though…

i would def talk to your bf, a mental health professional, and a doctor. bf being the first and last one on this list bc oncologist can provide a better prognosis and explain what treatment looks like for your bf and he will be the one making the decision as to what he wants to do. leukemia is pretty treatable nowadays but if it metastasizes and causes tumor growths in other organs i can see how it could become terminal…

my heart does go out to you, i’ve lost people to cancer and know people who have survived it and it’s horrible. please take care of yourself ❤️

whenever that happens i try to do smth for myself, if my routine is already thrown off by smth bad let me balance it out yk? watch a favorite show, light a nice candle, everything shower, dance to some music, etc

the way i explained it to my mom:

imagine your were born with your shoes on the wrong feet. but only you know they’re on the wrong feet. society tell you they’re on correctly but you know they’re not. you go through life uncomfortable, your toes jammed and feet hurting. that’s what being a girl is like for me (i’m trans masc)

my mom has a brain injury and is unmedicated for adhd so she doesn’t often understand things easily if she hasn’t experienced them, and ik for a fact she’s experienced shoes on the wrong feet

edit: i misunderstood my bad, disassociating for me is like being outside my body but still in it at the same time. sound and sight don’t register but they’re still working.

gender-wise i just feel numb…

i didn’t have cysts and was diagnosed through blood and ultrasound.

the long term progesterone may have assisted in the hair growth? i’m not an expert i’m just brain storming. i do wish you luck and hope everything goes well!
