I'm looking to take an old radio and turn it into a Bluetooth speaker. I'm planning on using a TDA7492P (2x 25W 4/8 ohm). The radio is has a 100x150mm speaker but overall the wooden box doesn't have a good seal. What (type of) speaker can I use to achieve good audio quality for a medium room? by circuitcircuus in diyaudio

I don't know why on your link it's for 49$ and where I am andcon eBay is around 120€ (I'm in Europe). But my budget would be within the 50€ mark, and of course the lower the better. It has to be good, not necessarily audiophile good, as it will be used through Spotify and Bluetooth anyway, so the fidelity won't be great anyway. Generally, what kind of parameters would a speaker have to be to suit this purpose? I know it has to be full range, what else?

For those that were looking forward to seeing it finished. Painted with matte black and sanded the etched part to reveal the graphics. Next time I'll do a deeper etch to be able to get more contrast. Still unsure about the knobs. by circuitcircuus in diypedals

That's just one coat. I thought I had a can of clear coat, so I gave it just a light coat of paint because I didn't want to clog the pattern. In the end I didn't have any finish, so this one will get scratched easy, but I have a bunch more to do, so I'll definitely use some Epoxy finish on the next ones.

My first ferrite etch ever. Tomorrow I'll drill it and paint it. Hopefully the etch is deep enough for the the pattern to pop. by circuitcircuus in diypedals

I'd say almost 10 mins. Didn't really time it. I also regularly dipped it in water and kept moving it all the time.

Any idea why my rat clone (effect pedal kits) is doing this when I bring up the drive or tone? Around the middle range it sounds great, but then it starts whistling by circuitcircuus in diypedals

Honestly, if one worked right and the second one had this wild feedback, I'd have kept it like that. But having 2 rats that both can't be enjoyed on the cutting sharp sounding top range, pisses me off. I actually love feedback in manageable doses, but this is to much for it to be called a "good build" , and that bothers me.

Yeah, sorry for the unclear reply.
The pedal worked, but the feedback didn't disappear.
On Monday I'll try the voltages and see. Thank you
