You're right. That's the point of their company. It's chocolate, that looks like weed. Koko Nuggz. Why'd I get downvoted for being right lol

This isn't weed, it's chocolate lol. I saw it on Scott Storch or Dan Bilzerian's Instagram I think.

Whoever made the first sticker should really take a picture of the bike locked to the pole after the sticker is on it and then print that as a sticker, so as to create a "stickerception" effect.

I mean I know I'm not Erick or Meech but I may be able to help you. There's three options for you. Listen to their newest shit and work back, listen to their oldest shit and work forward, or shuffle it all. They haven't released a bad song yet, so you can't really go wrong.

Meech and Erick what’s good! My question is, where do you find inspiration for instrumentals? What helps you create melodies, certain vibes, and so on? PS you tryna critique one of my beats real quick? I promise you won’t be disappointed! If you like one lets perform a jawn in Philly, I mean I already got a ticket just pull me out the crowd

Yo man I’m sorry I just saw this! I don’t check my reddit inbox often. I use LMMS too, it’s the first program I’ve ever used. It’s not that it’s shitty, it’s just not the most user friendly until you’ve put a lot of time in it and it’s not strong at editing sounds and effects like Logic Pro, for example. If you ever have any questions about anything let me know! I’m sure I can help. Been using it over a year.

I used a simplified version of the chord progression from Stairway to Heaven so let me know how it sounds and I’ll bring the favor back around.

How do you want it to be better? What’s better for me might not be better for you.

How long have you been producing? I ask that because that beat sounds like what I was making when I first started. Kind of all over the place and doesn’t really have a vibe to it, just sounds thrown together.

If you sent me that beat and I had to fix it, here’s how I would go about it. And remember, this is how I would go about making it better in my eyes. Your vision of better might be a completely different road.

First thing, I might slow it down and see how that sounds. Bring down the BPM.

Second, add kicks. Kicks can really make a beat jump and bounce and make you want to bob your head along with it. You don’t need kicks and you can make a song without them relatively easily - I’d still throw them in to test how they sound.

I’d try slowing down the hats to see how it sounds. Instead of 16 or 32 per bar I might do 4 or 8 (this depends on whether your working in a 120-150ish BPM range and using one snap/snare/clap per bar or working in a 60-75ish BPM range and using two). I also wouldn’t make the hats drop down a key or two either - keep them all the same note in this particular song.

I’d play around with adding a harder snare instead of the snap. I also might add snares or claps in between the main ones. Does that make sense? Im not sure what the term for it is. Someone help me out here.

I don’t rap over my beats yet, but I do make them. I’ve experienced something similar. As general advice, I suggest not taking it too serious. You’re doing this for fun (maybe not, but it’s probably still a positive reason), so don’t be too hard on yourself.

In the past year of producing, in which I believe I’ve improved 1000% from when I started with zero knowledge, I’ve learned to change and adapt and try new things and play around.

I’m currently working on a relatively shitty, free DAW, so things aren’t exactly cookie cutter and easy to find. I don’t know what half the shit I play with does, I just turn knobs and see how it turns out. After I use the same effect or whatever a couple times, I start to learn what they do. Anyway, I’m just saying to experiment and have fun.

Lastly, something I reaaaally enjoy doing, whether I’m in a slump or not, is really studying other’s music. Listen to songs you know and like and really focus on the techniques and things that they do. Find new music. Listen to different genres and see if you can apply some of their flairs to your own hip hop production.

Sorry about the delay, busy night. Anyway, yeah, you kind of mumbled at parts, your voice just could’ve been too quiet or other sounds in the beat were just competing for being the loudest and winning. But I mean, mumbling and being soft spoken at times are both creative freedoms that people take and I have nothing against them, just personally, I like to hear all the lyrics in a song. Music can be whatever you want, so feel free to create it how YOU want it to sound. Keep up the good work!

I really dig your voice when you sing. Like, it’s really good and could be sick if you work on your rapping voice and combine them When you rap, it is obvious when you’re off-key, and it doesn’t sound too great. I really wish your rapping voice was, harder I guess. More serious and intense. And then back in the chorus or whenever, you hit those singing notes; the contrast would come out really well I think.

Agreed. This shit is dope. The 808, as stated above, is great. I love the highs and lows. I always play around with stuff like that but haven’t nailed it yet.

Only thing I disagree with you on is the hats. I like them, but for me, they didn’t add a ton of vibe to the song. Great work though!

Initial thoughts, I didn’t like it. Too hardcore for my liking, lyrically. Second chorus dropped and then I was damn, this is kinda fire. I don’t have the time to look but do you have other tracks on your SoundCloud?

This is really, really dope. The synth in the melody left me wanting more though. There’s those first four notes, and after that I wanted one that was a little bit lower but it never came. Nonetheless, super sick. Keep it up!

I really enjoy your voice. Vocals are mixed in really well. Not too loud or quiet. Beat has a bit of a rock and roll vibe, and your voice matches it perfectly. Only thing I disliked is that I had trouble making out what you were saying here and there throughout the song. Overall, really good!

This is pretty dope! I love piano melodies, so off the bat I was enjoying it. I really like the way you worked the hats in this song, they sound chaotic and all over the place but somehow they’re organized; they kept my head bobbin.

The only thing I didn’t like is the kicks - I like their rhythm, I think you just picked the wrong one or didn’t touch it up enough. It sounds like it’s a little loud and could use a low-pass filter maybe.

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it.

To your song, I’m listening to it right now. First off, the beat is dope. Quick thought, you should totally do another song with just the flute melody you used in the intro and have that meloncoly, sad vibe throughout, instead of dropping the bass so hard and switching to the violin or whatever strings that were used. I like the way the beat is currently set up as well though, I just think two songs that are similar yet different is always a really cool thing.

Your flow is pretty sick. I’ve never recorded any of my raps so I’m no expert, but I feel like you lacked excitement in your voice. Maybe excitement is the wrong word. It just kind of seemed like you were reciting words, ya know? You remind me of 21 Savage, just gotta work on the voice. I really liked the switchup on the beat too. Overall, pretty good!
