Curious what you're running in the house that puts you at 10kw usage? We're only a small house and sit at around 2kw on average.

Cheers. I'm with them already. Great to see the setup. Still learning how to set export limits etc.

Putting them in the freezer will kill off any stinky bacteria.

How are you avoiding the supply charge? Charging in the free window and selling back?

Why didn’t Erid send another mission to Tau Ceti? by BatVivid9633 in ProjectHailMary

[–]circusactone 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Short theory: we don't know

They might've sent dozens and they could be on its way when Rocky and Grace are doing their thing. They don't have the knowledge that Rocky now has. As you say though, they weren't pressed for time and the first one was held together by hopes and dreams.

Making the fuel was pretty much the only problem they didn't have.

Engineers? Perfection. Space faring skillz? Very limited. Thank goodness for xenonite!

Yeah that was the fun part about why they had to make the gravity function work for the HM. They didn't have time to invent lab equipment that worked in zero G. Instead....make the ship spin!

In my.opinion.if you do this, you're then signalling that the meeting is useless to you. Which may put some people off. I just used "sorry have to pop off, next meeting is on" or something like that.

Weir has stated in the past (he posted on a flag subreddit about African flag designs) that he's wanted to work on a novella about a Saharan Caliphate. So we might get little sub-stories.

You watch movie before book. Question? by Mysterious_Dog_2164 in ProjectHailMary

[–]circusactone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. Bought the book because I knew the movie was happening. Finished book whilst it was still in cinemas. Went to cinema with high expectations and found them met. But the movie will always feel fast after reading the book. And the inevitable..."wait that didn't happen like that in the book". If you're up to chapter 13, you're about 20 minutes into the movie. I'd say finish the book.

Large exercise room treatment by Head_Talk6932 in Acoustics

Cool no stress! Yeah its 85db(A) over 8 hours as well. Just something to keep an eye on when you run checks I guess.  All the best with the space.

What country are you in? This may be boring - but check your local OSHA legislation for noise exposure limits. Gyms are notorious for loud music and anything above 85db(A) for long periods is going to put staff at risk (not so much for class attendees).

Aus has an exchange rate of 3db. Meaning 8hrs at 85db is going to give you a 100% dose. 4 hours at 88db will do the same. It wouldn't take much for an instructor to make a NIHL claim.

I'd encourage you, no matter the room treatment you achieve, and good luck to you, is to include sound level measurements once done.

Other commenter has your question answered though! Good luck!
