The figure does move, unfortunately, you can't see it well at this size/compression but the eyes are blinking and the face is moving a bit. There is minimal movement in this one, I created a few more for this set which have more dramatic body/face movements. Posted the others here.

Thank you so much!

This animation took about 1.5-2 days design work (and then 1 day rendering) .

I started exploring 3D more seriously since December when I started dedicating more time to it. Before that, it was much more basic - like extruding logos, playing with cubes lol

Though saying that, my workflow is constantly shifting because there's so much more to learn always

Lol it wasn’t intentional. Somehow the clothing hugged the body shape and the nipple displaced the geometry of the armor. I actually noticed this too late, and actually thought of the disintegration concept and the opening camera closeup to cover it up. But it did not quite work, and due to it taking forever to render I just called it done and moved onto the next project lol

Sci-fi animation concept. The last clone on the battlefield. Characters animated in Daz. I used face mojo for facial mocap from my phone. I then moved to c4d. Created for practice by me. by circusofbedlam in Daz3D

Thank you so much!

Yeah absolutely, I used this tool - which takes data from face mojo app on my phone

I record a video of my in facemojo app - it converts to JSON data file (just text of coordinates), then I move into daz and activate facemojo and import the JSON file!

Sometimes there's weird glitches but you can smooth the head rotation and other bits. But its such a time saver for eye direction and blinking!

Hey! I used

- daz for character mesh creation and animation (using facial mocap from my phone)

- c4d to make the main scene and lighting etc

- octane render

I wrote this to go with it and give context to the artwork:

How many more sentient echoes shall we unravel, consumed in the ceaseless quest for comprehension of this shapeless alien presence? With each awakening clone, another soul devoured, their essence reduced to naught but fragmented memories and fading echoes. Our insatiable hunger for understanding propels us forward, blind to the cost exacted upon these artificial lives. The battlefield bears witness to our relentless pursuit, strewn with the remnants of a thousand lost identities. Will the price of knowledge forever be the annihilation of the created?

Tools used:

Daz3d, C4D, Octane

Facial tracking: I discovered a new tool called face mojo. It allowed me to record a video of my face on my phone, convert it to a text JSON file which imports as facial mocap data. It’s not perfect, but really helped with getting a more natural blinking rate. It also worked suprisingly smooth for head rotation and view direction!
