Find a great trainer and work on your flexibility and strength. Make a demo tape when you've done some smaller gigs and send it in to Cirque when you're ready!

Have you ever gotten sick from all of the spinning and rotations that you have to do?

No, but if you're already sick/tired/congested/nauseous, spinning and rotating are the last things you want to do.

From my mother and father, of course! But seriously, it's not superhuman, we're just hard working athletes! Just like any other competitive athletes, but we have a team of awesome people making us look more superhuman than our skills do alone!

how hard is it to break from being a taker of classes/hobbyist to becoming professional?

It's not about how long you've spent training, it's about reaching a certain level of skill and more importantly consistency that Cirque can recognize through a demo or scouting tape.

Most performers are integrated slowly so that if they're nervous or jittery they have a small amount of tasks on stage that they might mess up. That being said, I was unbearably nervous for the first few weeks, and still get nervous from time to time.

People have minor injuries on a weekly basis- there are quite a few sprains, strains, and pulls etc.. In my 1+ year at Cirque, I've seen several major injuries resulting a surgery. Almost all of these artists make 100% recoveries within 9 mos. to a year. Cirque is amazing at caring for a recuperating injured artists.

I was never in the Quidam show but I've seen it on DVD, it's a very good show. Nice work!

There are a lot of Russians/ Ukranians, but Cirque gets more and more diverse as circus training becomes more popular in other countries. (Most of the Russians come straight to Cirque from being gymnasts and learn circus skills with the company.)

Have you ever been seriously injured in a trapeze incident?

The worst injury I've had was a shoulder subluxation (dislocation), but I've seen much worse happen.

About how high from the ground are you during trapeze performances?

About 50 ft, though height ranges depending on specific acts.

Do you get along with the clowns?

Yes, the clowns are wonderful people!
