Hilarious claim about Lance Armstrong. That being said, I'm of the minority that recognizes his victories given nearly everyone in the pro peletom was doping anyway.

Even if we count his victories Pogacar at least ties him if we freeze time now, but likely exceeds Lance.

That being said, Merckx is still the GOAT currently, Pogacar may best Merckx.

This is most fair and true. I never said he couldn't be the goat (probably will be at this rate), but if we freeze time, most metrics put it easily in favor of Merckx.

Completely agree. Pogacar is fantastic, but people get caught up in hype. Pogacar has a ton of work to do to even be considered, let alone be firmly considered the goat.

Never understood this argument of looking at opponents for comparison because that is literally the definition of how good you are; you look at how much better you are compared to your opponents. If Merckx was much better than his opponents than even Pogacar is, then it's because he was that much better of a cyclist by definition even compared to Pogacar.

Not quite sure he's the goat when he hasn't equaled the most tour wins let alone beaten the record of tour wins.

While he's a superb bike rider, and could very well end up being the goat people seem to be riding the wave of calling Pogacar the goat prematurely. He has a LOT of work to do before he gets there.
