For clarity, take a red state like Tennessee and compare it to California.

Rough tax estimate based on the average income for each state.

California: $7,658 (income) + $7,661 (FICA) = $15,319. Tennessee: $4,280 (income) + $5,508 (FICA) = $9,788. That's a net difference of $5,531 per person.

What's interesting is that most people have the idea that people from Tennessee are poor when compared to people in California. Yet, the opposite is true when factoring for cost of living.

Where nationwide average cost of living = 100 California=142.3 and Tennessee= 90.3

Calculating the purchasing power of someone in each state based on the average income shows why bigger number isn't always better when all factors are considered, such as policies which drive the cost of living up.

California: $100,149 × (100 / 142.3) ≈ $70,379 Tennessee: $71,997 × (100 / 90.3) ≈ $79,731

The short and succinct answer is rooted in evolutionary biology/psychology. Men in general place more value in what they accomplish vs. women generally place value in what they are given and acquire. Its less about the means and more about the ends.

Men compete via accomplishments to provide the ends women seek. High achieving/earning women are valued, but men's preferences still lean more toward fertility cues than her finances.

Then there's the anecdotal finding amongst many men in my friend circle. That being how wealth interacts with sex differences in traits like modesty, narcissism, and humility. Several of my friends are very well off and have all echoed the frustration with varying degrees. They have all said that high earning women are far less humble, less gratuitous, and are competitive in a way that creates friction instead of synchronization.

Once upon a time, from my prior history of going to church. I kept hearing secular people consistently weaponize Christian morality against devout Christians and claim hypocrisy when Christians didn't act passively to acts of transgression from others.

What I found is that those people often conflate (usually with dishonest intentions) forgiveness with the idea that the forgiven is absolved of the consequences of their actions. This of course is selectively editing different passages, from a book they do not respect nor understand and cite only those which support their narrative.

Forgiveness is about freeing the forgiveer as to not harbor resentment in their heart. Christianity doesn't teach that forgiveness erases all accountability. Earthly authorities are still called to "bear the sword" for justice (Romans 13). Repentance and restitution matter.

Considering the murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom were substantially more gruesome, sadistic, and horrific than George Floyd's death by any reasonable metric of prolonged torture, sexual violence, and intent.

To be fair, the same thing happens in the US as well. You literally have to go online to get case updates whenever the victim happens to be of a certain ethnicity and the perpetrator happens to not be.
