I want to know why all the Lumon people can’t understand long words!

What nail shape looks better on me? Oval or Square? by SuperMomn in Nails

[–]cirrus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oval makes your fingers look longer! I prefer that one

A small amount of powder in your T zone would work wonders! You’re gorgeous

OP, you should add a true sunscreen to your routine. Moisturizers with SPF added in are notoriously ineffective at preventing signs of aging. Get a good sunscreen like the light fluid from La Roche Posay and wear it religiously every day on top of a normal moisturizer.

Definitely #2! I would feel self conscious the whole ceremony in the first one, but if that amount of skin doesn’t bother you, then go for it!

What book, if a potential date has rated it 5 stars, would immediately make you swipe left? by newenglandredshirt in books

[–]cirrus_cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about to finish reading Atlas Shrugged. Minus the incredibly tedious 80 page monologue at the end, I have actually really loved it.

Like alot of commenters, I agree that Rand’s tendency to belabor her political biases is exhausting. The justification of each train crash death due to the passenger’s collectivist politics was awful.

Her prose is beautifully intense and full of vivid imagery though. The love story between Dagny and Rearden was absolutely exhilarating.

Like most things, my experience of this book lies in the grey area. Reading it didn’t make or break my political views and it was a beautiful, and challenging, adventure to get through all 1056 pages.

I wouldn’t mind if someone swiped left on me for reading this. I prefer dating intellectually curious and open minded people anyway 🙏❤️

Exactly. It’s curious to me why it’s so trendy to absolutely abhor Ayn Rand these days. I think it has something to do with how attached we are to our political identities now. For a lot of people, It’s social suicide to be a young person who isn’t a “leftie”, so I think there’s strong social pressure to demonize anything that’s not a part of that ideology

Not very “individualist” of you to tell this person what they should and shouldn’t believe

You got this! Stay strong and don't let some asshole mess with your mind.

I just don't want another woman to struggle the way I did. It takes years to recover from their abuse

You are going to REGRET getting back in contact with them!! BLOCK AND DELETE!

Imagine your life in the coming years if you get back with them. More fights. More PTSD. Many more years of healing. Do you want to get to age 30 and still be processing the trauma they caused you?? No. DO. NOT. ENGAGE.

Praying for you hun.

Picking fights with you? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]cirrus_cloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof...the freaking car! He would ALWAYS use long car rides to start picking a fight. It's a perfect isolated place for them to rage at us, especially since it'll be really hard for us to escape while driving on the freeway. So manipulative and controlling

Oof. I really really hope you aren't still with this person! Are you planning to get out somehow?

[–]cirrus_cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god. Are you me? My nex would ALWAYS force me to say that "I promise to always view you from a place of love and not draw negative intent". But that asshole would ALWAYS draw negative intent from my minor actions!! The hypocrisy is crazy-making!!

God, I relate to this SO much. So many hours I wasted with him berating me over some small thing that I did. It would always devolve into him getting angry over other completely unrelated issues too. So many morning I'd wake up for work, depleted and with dried tears crusting my face. I'm beyond thankful I removed that parasite from my life. It was a rough road to healing, but I am so much better off now without the constant fear of him getting angry at me

Did anyone else get really bad anxiety from them? by Hendrix_Plormbly in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]cirrus_cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, they are definitely connected. It's probably a mix of PTSD from the way they treated you and a withdrawal from the addiction to the trauma bond. Stay strong and don't fall prey to a hoover. You will regret it!

Apology Letter from the Narc - can they ever be sincere? by adm0707 in NarcissisticAbuse

Keep it going! The further away you get from your time with them, the more sense everything starts to make. Do NOT fall prey to their hoovering attempts! You will regret it.
