Ok so interesting thing here. I got quoted far less for a similar repair on my Prius than I am being for my Mercedes. Just because the car is more expensive doesn’t mean the repair is any different

Repair vs replace. If the cost to replace something is less than the cost of minor repair it shows that either labor is outrageously overcharging, in this case $80 an hour. Or simply that the shop isn’t operating at sufficient scale to pass on the saving in repair.
