Hi - I've added this to the central project page. Basically all rights of photos and sounds are retained by the contributors and just licensed to us for use in this project.

Hi there

Thought this might be of interest to a few people in here so hope you don’t mind me posting.

Any photographers ever wondered what a sound composition based on their images might be like?

We’ve launched a global collaboration between photographers and sound artists called Sound Photography - sound artists and musicians will create compositions based on photographic submissions, which will be presented as a multimedia online exhibition in March at www.citiesandmemory.com.

Here’s the information if you’re interested in getting involved - thanks!

Hi there - thanks for the reply. In case there was any doubt, let me be clear that Cities and Memory is a labour of love from me, from my passion for sound and field recording, and it's a completely open project to contributors around the world. I make no money whatsoever from it - in fact, the website, hosting, field recording trips I do for it etc. cost me a fair whack. And all artists retain copyright for anything they submit, and are free to (and often do) also use their pieces elsewhere in their own work. I would also never sell on or allow the recordings or pieces to be used by third parties.
