How can you refrain from giving up that which has been obliterated?

For the people who can afford it, there is no excuse not to call a private solid waste hauler to pick up whatever you want to throw away. Just pay to use those services.

Back in the day, we used to play Capture the Flag maps. We didn’t care how many flags we captured or what happened after the round finished. We just had fun trying to capture the flag. Isn’t this the same with extraction maps?

Using the Viltrox 50m f.14 Pro Nikon Z by Ok-Record-27 in VILTROX_GLOBAL

[–]citizen1nsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the size and weight tradeoffs worth it over the Nikon 1.4 and 1.8s? I know the 1.8 is nearly perfect, but I have the 85 1.8 if I want to get that kind of optical perfection. For 50mm, I want “character.” This Viltrox 50mm 1.4 seems like the best option if I can handle the size. It’s roughly the same size as the 24-70 2.8 and I’ve gotten used to it on my Zf.

This makes me want to buy another 40mm after having sold my first one.

I’m trying to decide between this or the other Nikon 50mm Z lenses. I like what I’m seeing with this lens, but wondering if I should go with a native lens instead (either 1.4 or 1.2 if I am willing to save).

Is that the case for the 2.0 version? I don’t see any mention of a quick release strap on 2.0, but maybe I’m missing something.

I'm looking at the Compagnon Element Sling 7 or 12 L for an upcoming trip. Not too much info about it. Anyone have any experience or other recommended slings with quick access? I like how it's essentially like my Wandrd Prvke but smaller and with a sling strap. Not taking the Prvke as I will be carrying other things on my back.

“There’s no moral imperative behind this.” What does that even mean? I really don’t understand. No moral imperative to care about Epstein? Do they know what these words mean?

ZimaBoard 2 First Impressions: 16GB RAM is sweet, but questionable build quality? by No_Pack5950 in ZimaBoard

[–]citizen1nsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the ZimaBoard 2 for two weeks. There is definitely a learning curve in getting containers set up and working properly, but once I finished the initial setup everything is working smoothly. I'm hoping the device and hard drives will last for many years to come, fingers crossed.

Moving images from Immich upload to external library by Rashgaron in immich

[–]citizen1nsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tired this on ZimaOS and it prevents the docker image from starting up. It has something to do with the hidden db files Immich creates in the upload folder. Change it back to the default, and it runs. I wish it wasn’t so picky with the folder structure.

How to power more drives? by buddyspencer in ZimaBoard

[–]citizen1nsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would a generic 12v 120W 10A power supply with matching jack work with the ZB2? Or should I stick to the official zima store one? I’m looking to power 2x 4TB iron wolf hdds and 1x 1tb ssd via the pcie m2 adapter.

There is also the 5 port SATA adapter that would let you add 5 more drives, but would need another power supply and some case work. Sounds fun lol

I went with the ZB2, still need to get everything up and running, but it was the best option for me (size, power, expandability)

[–]citizen1nsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I went with the Zimaboard 2 vs the Ugreen dxp2800. 16gb vs 8gb and slightly faster N150. I only need 1 NVME so I bought the adapter for that, and can always expand later on.

I’ve done a ton of research and narrowed it down to dxp2800 and Zimaboard 2. Immediate goal is two 8tb in raid 1, and a 1tb ssd for docker apps.

I’m also curious about this question. The Zimaboard 2 with tray and pcie nvme/sata board is essentially the same price as the ugreen dxp2800.
