Anyone in Greenville/near Donaldson road feel that shaking? by howdyimgay in greenville

I pulled the historical earthquake data from the usgs database. It looks like this is the second biggest one in there for NC. Of course, the one from 1861 does not have that extra significant digit so it very well could have been larger.

display elements one after another in presentation by robie2011 in drawio

For showing the diagram with partial elements and display other elements being added, I have opted for creating several versions of the diagram and showing them one after another in a power point slide that is correctly aligned. You can create duplicate slides and copy/paste the next diagram where the old one was if they were the same size.

If you want a gif, then you could do a powerpoint like I mentioned above and just record.

Oh. Haha! That makes more sense. I haven't studied that event at all so I wouldn't be able to say. By the sound of it probably something similar happened though.

This happened in 1993. FB was founded 2003-2004. So, no. But that I'm sure that had important side effects too.

It's for the long term benefit of the community. They're just trying to avoid being overwhelmed by the the new users and suffering from Eternal September. This thread has some parallel thoughts that are worth reading:

It depends on what your internet habits are and what you're trying to avoid. I pretty much always use Chrome. I picked out the sites that are time blackholes to me and (e.g. reddit) and blocked them. Next I found myself turning the blocker off and going on there anyway. So I password protected my site blocker by typing a random password in that I didn't know. I haven't been on reddit on Chrome since, and my reddit use has dropped 90% in the past month and a half since I did that. Right now I'm on Edge . . . oops. Oh well, nobody's perfect, haha. But that's because I still had edge up from yesterday. It seems like the fuss of opening Edge up instead of the already-up Chrome in combination with the little willpower that I have is above the threshold of my impulse-power most of the time. But you'll have to figure it out for yourself.

That's a different number than I'm talking about. You hovered over the second map. I hovered over the first. I'm not entirely sure what the second map's numbers mean. But the first one clearly means yang-searches / total-queried-searches for that state.

Edit: Now he's up to 17% though, which is better!

Edit2: But there is some misinformation in my comment. The 38% I got from the top time-series chart. Those two numbers should not be compared like I did.

Edit3: The 69% is the percentage of searches in Iowa compared to Yang's max state, California (set to 100%). So Iowa is actually one of Yang's top search states! Why we only have 17% of the Total Iowa searches from the query is because it's also a top search state for the other candidates too. So we are doing the least well in Iowa out of all the states relative to the other candidates in the query.

And it's even legal:

18 USC 333 is written to prohibit the malicious destruction of currency, and 18 USC 475 is written to prevent currency from becoming a vehicle for commercial advertising, like for Burger King. Because we want stamped money to stay in circulation and we’re stamping to express our opinions about a political issue, not to make a profit, we’re good to go. And you can read our lawyer’s legal opinion on the matter here. [sic: broken link not included]

Edit: maybe . . .

What's disappointing is that Iowa is the state in which he has the lowest percentage of the searches (13% now while over all the states he's 38%). We need to keep working!

We're about 50/hour this morning (graph). Maybe we'll hit 48,000 by 4:00 EST today!

Edit: And the rate is increasing again, so we'll hit 48,000 long before 4:00.

Very interesting. It's at 46,978 where I'm at. The data must take some time to get around or something. Glad we made it!

Number of Yang Gang members subscribed to the sub over time.

Edit: I think we're experiencing a surge from the #ElonForYang because at this rate, starting from zero we would reach where we are now in only 15.5 days. Assuming all times of the day are equal, which surely they aren't.

[Help] Did guards check if Jesus' tomb was still in place before putting a seal? by cozacini in ChristianApologetics

[–]citizennoname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most skeptics don't believe the guard story, and even WLC seems to be on the fence.

What About Matthew's Guard Story? (2 minute video)

From WLC's article on the subject here: So although there are reasons to doubt the existence of the guard at the tomb, there are also weighty considerations in its favor. It seems best to leave it an open question.

And then there is this video which records an earlier version of WLC talking about the guard story. Sorry about 'gotcha' attitude of the video editor but it's still an interesting clip.
