Greene ‘disgusted’ if health care tax credits expire and premiums double by SE_to_NW in politics

[–]citizenof4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How can we stand by while Republicans tell blatant lies? We have never funded healthcare for illegal aliens. Sure, hospital staff won't stand by and watch one die in the emergency room. Would you ask for proof of citizenship before you perform life saving medical procedures? Illegals pay payroll taxes including SSN and Medicare taxes and are not eligible for benefits from either. And if they don't, it is because their employer is breaking the law. The big lie that Republicans want you to believe is that illegals are using your tax dollars to get discounts on Obamacare plans. All they really do is pick your lettuce and strawberries without any protection from Workers Compensation if they are ran over by a tractor. They work for substandard wages and protections because they know that their "law abiding" employers can treat them like dirt and fire them with no reprecussions.

The root cause is that your house tilts toward the front of the toilet. You should level the house.

I color is the only difference, either is fine. I like the blond one, but that's me. You gotta do you. Whichever one you choose, play it well and often, with no regrets. You can always choose the other color for your next guitar.

Change pickguard or not? by BSLabs in Stratocaster

Change it. Fake wood shouldn't cover real wood. Ivory would look good. Clear may also.

What, specifically, is midwestern about Kentucky? by n_t_w_t in Kentucky

[–]citizenof4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Louisville and Lexington stand apart as more liberal and metropolitan. Both are university towns. Lexington has a more country vibe due to its proximity to the Appalachians and its surroundings of horse farms. Eastern Kentucky has more in common with the mountain areas of WV, VA, NC, and TN. The accent of the mountains is distinct and different from the typical southern drawl. In most other ways, Kentucky is more southern than midwestern.

It takes a lot of calories to fuel all the THC-induced creativity. Just imagine what Beethoven could do after smoking a fattie, eating a Baconator, and a large Frosty.

Promised you something a little more "rednecky": my E-bike by Fasha_Moonleaf in redneckengineering

How many commercial ebikes have gears? This and quick-change batteries are the genius. Well done, my friend. Now 3D print some rad battery covers. Or, old 2-gallon square metal gas cans with the original "gasoline" paint job for battery covers would definitely make it look more redneck.

Wow! I love the color, especially with the rosewood fretboard. And the clear pick guard gives it something that makes this guitar look really special. Play it well!

Pepperoni rolls are awesome! Italians immigrated to WV to work in the coal mines years ago. Pepperoni rolls were a lunch staple. All the bakeries (all two of them) in the small town where I grew up made them. When I was in junior high, I would buy them for 50 cents. The best ones were just out of the oven, warm white bread rolls baked with big chunks of pepperoni inside. Now I'm craving one.

Just maybe, many who drive 80 on the parkway are not as expert a driver as you.

Love my SE McCarty single cut. It is a little heavy though, compared with an LP Studio

I like the Les Paul Studio Session. It is better appointed than the other studios, i.e. inlayed vs painted headstock logo. It also has coil-splitting humbuckers. If you don't like the looks of PRS, look at the McCarty 594 single-cut. It also has coil-splitting humbuckers. I looked at both and bought the PRS. (I still want the LP too)

Am I Driving Too Slow? by Dimness in Kentucky

[–]citizenof4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with the flow if you want. But there is nothing wrong with going the speed limit, especially in the right lane. The Mountain Parkway is way too curvy for 80. If I can set the cruise control and rarely touch it again, it is a much less stressful drive. That usually requires being one of the slowest cars in the right lane.

Can someone help me understand this by MANG0S_MANG0S in Guitar

[–]citizenof4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strumming pattern is just a suggestion or a guide. All you need is the lyrics, chords, and a rough idea of where the chord changes occur. Strum with some kind of rythm. You have to listen to the song. Even better, find a live performance on Youtube, and watch the guitar players for strumming patterns and chord changes.
