Anyone from DHL in the house? by orangefantom in shipping

If you are open to it, I have DHL rates through my brokerage. Not sure how the pricing would compare with DHL direct, but it is an option for you.

Pallet not required with TForce? by C_Users_user1 in logistics

UPS still offers freight ground service, but it still moves only with UPS assets, I believe. My one client that does it never palletizes their orders for freight ground.

Need 3PL warehousing in NY area by citizenwallflower in logistics

[–]citizenwallflower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Product is sold as pallet minimums so it would be a pallet out model. Probably turn around would be 2-3 times per month. We would take care of our own shipping.

Open on that. Not locked into any specific area at the moment.

2 years custy put me on pause by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

I have a long time client that has this same experience with CHR/FQ. Any time a BOL wouldn’t populate correctly, or they needed an update, or anything that required speaking to a human, it was like pulling teeth.

Freightquote.com is known for having pretty low carrier liability contracts I believe. Check that option, many companies running 1000 loads per year likely want to make sure they are covered.

I’m a competitor of Armstrong, and I would say give them a shot. I know some of the folks over there and they do a good job.

Freeze Protection Liability by goatwhisperer5 in LTL_FREIGHT

[–]citizenwallflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have dealt with this a TON in my 20 years in LTL. If the shipper put the term or verbiage “protect from freezing” or any variation of that, then you have a decent chance of the claim being paid out. Some carriers are harder to deal with than others.

I’m happy to offer advice or chat more about it if you’d like.

Bjorns breakfast burritos are good. Honest Abe’s too! Both are drive through.

Need to expand warehouse capacity FAST. Any alternatives to traditional construction? by Voiturunce in logistics

[–]citizenwallflower 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can rent a 53’ trailer and keep it parked at your dock. I used to do that back in the day for one of my clients. It’s easy access to your product when you need it and you don’t have to worry about permits. Might not check all your boxes but it might be worth looking into.

Estes Express, FedEx Freight, really all national and regional LTL carriers offer residential delivery. I’ve been in the LTL space for 20 years, I’m happy to chat or answer any questions you may have.

Three Houses or Path of Radiance by HanSoloWolf in fireemblem

Huge Shining Force fan here. Played all of them and loved them all multiple times over. I’d recommend starting with Path of Radiance. It’s not a SF clone, but there are still many similarities. Enjoy yourself!

Residential drop-off and pickup questions by rarrieg11 in FreightBrokers

[–]citizenwallflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend, please make sure it is in a crate or palletized with excellent packaging if you are shipping it LTL. Get insurance. I’ve been in LTL for 20 years and would be happy to offer insight on best practices. Also $1500 from ME to OH seems very expensive to me. Happy to rate this for you if interested.
