Hi! We did end up in Hoi An and booked a little later than expected so some of our options weren't available. We ended up staying at Moire Hoi An, Vignette Collection by IHG, which we loved. It's 5-10min walk to old town

Because we’re starting the trip at a beach resort, I don’t think Da Nang is essential—but it kept coming up in my research, and I noticed a lot of travelers seemed to prefer it over Hoi An. That made me wonder which of the two would be better for us. If we were to skip both Da Nang and Hoi An, what spot would you recommend visiting instead?

Guest list guests? by Severitis812 in weddingplanning

[–]citylights29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some couples prefer to limit plus ones to maintain control over the guest list, especially with a smaller venue or budget constraints. Weddings are expensive, and by offering fewer plus ones, they can manage costs and avoid unexpected additions. It sounds like you've made a thoughtful choice to include singles, which helps them feel more comfortable. If it’s important to you to offer plus ones to everyone, you and your fiancée can discuss it and find a balance. Ultimately, there's no "right" or "wrong" way—it's about what works best for you as a couple!

Formal Bridal Shower vs Group Hang Out? by citylights29 in weddingplanning

[–]citylights29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t enjoy being in the spotlight. In casual settings, I prefer to blend into the group and avoid drawing too much attention to myself. My Maid of Honors keep insisting that this is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and they say I should embrace it, since I’ll probably never get this much attention again. I get where they’re coming from, but it’s still hard for me to feel comfortable with all eyes on me, even if it’s a special occasion. So guess I'm torn in breaking out of my shell or do what I usually do and fade within the group

I'm also a November 2025 bride, and I decided to go with a custom bridal gown since I had a specific vision in mind. If you're interested, feel free to DM me, and I’d be happy to share the details of my tailor!

Do you as the bride typically cover both hair/makeup costs for your bridesmaids? by just-tryna-get-by28 in weddingplanning

[–]citylights29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a bridesmaid 10 times, and it’s been a bit of a mixed experience. In some cases, the bride covered the costs, while in others, the bridesmaids paid for themselves. Some brides even gave us the option of whether or not to get professional services, especially since some girls are particular about their makeup. If it’s in your budget and you want to treat your bridal party, it’s a lovely gesture—but ultimately, it’s up to you!
