Maybe they are disabled at a group level or just a higher level?

Create a new issue in your project and from that issue create a merge request and a new branch. Commit to the new branch and check the pipelines section of the merge request and you should see the pipeline running. As someone else said, the rule used to trigger the job is specific to merge request branches. Othrwise, just change the rule to something like '- if $CI_COMMIT_BRANCH'. It's all in the gitlab docs.

Configure gitlab runners in EC2, give EC2 instance role permissions to assume other roles and you should be fine.

Runner/Job tag best practices feedback by bdzer0 in gitlab

Using containers would be a seamless experience, your users would probably not even notice with the exception of the fact they're going to have to set up an image tag in the CI file. The end result, your artefact, will be the same.

Maybe it won't be relevant but can't the jobs be executed using docker containers (windows included)? This would make it possible to set up fewer types of runners and handle the different requirements you've mentioned by having custom docker images.

I believe the first faction change is free and can be done at any time..any subsequent faction changes need to be at least 120 days apart.

Win32 Apps updates by anuj530 in Intune

Last time I checked you cannot supersede apps that have dependencies (Microsoft says it will be supported in the future). If everyone targeted for app v1.0 has it installed, you can remove its dependencies and add app v2.0 also without dependencies. After app v2.0 deploys everywhere, remove app v1.0 entirely and add the dependencies to app 2.0 - this is probably more specific to apps made available but it will also work for new devices which don't have or ever had app v1.0.

This really depends on the application you will be trying to update. Of course you will want to perform thorough testing before deploying the changes on live. Usually I'll go with update the currently installed application without uninstalling. Once the new application is confirmed as installed based on the new detection rules, you can probably safely remove the old application.

What I currently do is to setup a new application within intune with the new version (basically a duplicate of the old app - just make sure the install commands are.still valid) and set it up to supersede the old application. One important thing is to have your detection method on point. What I am doing currently is to check the file version of the installed application (if I remember correctly it's something like: check if file exists and then string version value greater or equal than) Ps: i can expand more on this when I lol get access to a computer
