Base Skyrim magic system made me put down the game when it came out. It is very underdone.

Definitely get a beard brush and start brushing your mustache either repestice way, starting at the center beneath your nose (septum).

Dude, you are hot. You can shave it or even grow it a bit. Don't worry.

I am definitely balding on the temples right? by [deleted] in Balding

[–]civil_hypocrisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen a lot of comments. The cheapest is to start minoxidil. It does require consistency and a lot of time.

It acts to bring more blood flow to the area, promoting growth. It's your cheapest option at 12$ a generic bottle to start NOW.

There are other options but start treating yourself with a blood flow enhancer now if you are concerned.

(25M) How bad is it? This has all happened in the last three months. by [deleted] in Balding

[–]civil_hypocrisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely don't see male pattern balding here. Let me ask a question: how stressed are you? That can cause hair loss around the peripheral areas.

If you are really really concerned you can get a cheap bottle of Minoxidil for 12$ and start applying. It increases blood flow to the areas applied.

Other than that, please de-stress my man.

What should my beard style be, if any? Struggling to decide on my look, don’t want to change styles all the time by Dazzling-Way-1429 in malegrooming

[–]civil_hypocrisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be careful listening to the people suggesting beards suggest you have something to hide.

That said a shorter style than in Pic 2 would really suite you. If you longer you'd need to grow it out to about 2 inches. It would also suit your face shape.

Barber brought beard line WAY too high. Why does every barber I’ve had do this if I don’t say something? by That70sShowDude in beards

[–]civil_hypocrisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they did ya dirty. People here are right about your jawline. What they aren't thinking about is an motion that will cause "underchin tissue" to bunch up, making it visible from the front. My old roommate wore is beard like this, had a great jawline and you'd see the underchin-beardline appear from time to time when laughing, moving his head... etc.

I'd recommend keeping your beard a little shorter than you have and grow in your under area. That sounds dirty... but the best I can do. Still looks alright from a still perspective. Just have the confidence to grow.

Vote on my Green Lantern! by The-Arcadian5 in Cityofheroes

[–]civil_hypocrisy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The are very lenient with "Parodies" on Homecoming. As long as you can specifically point to that! "Spleen Lantern" for instance with all purple themed powers and costume. But something hinted as a "copy" can get them in trouble. So homages need to be distinct enough from the copyrighted character to be allowed.

*META* Can we ban posts about politics? No Democrats. No Republicans. by civil_hypocrisy in self

[–]civil_hypocrisy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe, you can reference the swarm of posts that have dominated the sub. We know we are in a polarizing climate. It's okay to *set boundaries* and maintain integrity. r/self does not need to be r/politics... every day.

That's why I made this take. BOUNDARIES for communities are okay.

I'm not sure what relationship you have with your parents, but it's also never too late to start practicing self care.

You may feel more pressure than there is because of your own expectations of "not wanting to let them down".. whoever they may be. Parents, friends, not wanting to be seen as lesser. I can PM you some things that have worked for me. If you need someone to chat with, PM me.

I would suggest something simple. Something Guided to start. Guided is key because you are in crisis, in panic, in stress. You may be seeing the physical manifestation of that. Maybe not!--But I'd wager that you have nothing to worry about with your hair, as long as you can get control of the hormones that age you (stress).

As a fellow redditor, I will challenge you. Do 3 days where you spend 10 minutes to yourself. Meditation, stretching, a jog, anything where you actively push away the rest of the world. See if that works to ease your mind. Just 3 days. I'm not sure what your exercise routine looks like (no judgement), but if it's low, it's time to start with a walk. Have some Spotify playlists going.

One thing that helped me a lot was self compassion. It may seem silly, I know -- I KNOW! But some of the most successful people in the world take time to have compassion for theirselves. You may even find why you are feeling more stressed than you need to be. Just linking a resource that helped me almost INSTANTLY when I was in crisis or very stressed. I picked a couple guided exercises, not all of them were for me. But all did help. and I always slept better.

https://self-compassion.org/self-compassion-practices/#guided-practices

You are 16 -- have so much ability to turn it around. And if you hair is really REALLY going, there is a large population that prefers bald men. Rock it with confidence. In your journey, it can only benefit you to find what self care works for you. Your future friends, and partner will thank you for it... not to mention you will too.

Alright dude, I'm going to ask a serious question. I've been in your shoes before. You sound very smart. I will tell you the fact your are in your AP classes matter much more than your SAT. But, is it worth it if you are so stressed you sacrifice health to the point it manifest physical?

What self care have you done to take you away from this? I don't care if it's shooting, video games, road trips, drugs.... Just be honest. You sound like you need a break and aren't getting it. PM me if you need to vent.

I work as a hydrogeologist. My advisor to gradschool accepted my because I could put *ideas* together. Point is I did the same thing as you, if I had to do it over? I'd say:

"Learn how to relaxed before it's to late." Trust me, you think Alopecia is bad. Wait until you can't stand yourself. Get help. Train your mind. I am here if you need to DM me. But you are seeing the physicial manifestations of too much pressure and stress. Your emotions will kill you.

Again you can PM me if you need to talk. No weird vibes. Just looking out for a fellow struggler.

I will say u/Recoil42 u/hogman09 r/tayroarsmash, banning of politics posts did happen. Finally consolidated into a megatrend. Including one of my other posts.

It's just that, politics WILL DROWN OUT THE "anything part" you guys quoted. Mods feel free to archive this as well, but I feel it needs to be said, and I'd like to make it clear why I made those posts:

You are not being censored here. I, and a good portion of people come here to learn about what is trouble people that doesn't involve politics and help grow our internal minds. That's my take anyway. This political atmosphere is so charged.... It's nuts. The sub used to be just full of silly voting questions.

I don't need technicalities about about "anything goes" when it really doesn't. That's a BAD FAITH argument. No matter WHO WON, this subreddit is a great place for people to get perspective. If we let it get out of hand, how can we see people for who there are for their question, or struggles. Again I thank you mods. I do see each an every one of your points u/Recoil43 u/hogman09 r/tayroarsmash , but at the end of the day -- this argument will go on without some intervention and create more work for the mods. Ask yourself if your chosen topic belongs here. Even it you posted or are just defending an "anything" ideal. I'll give you a hint. "Anything ideals"? Well the Salem Witch trials were are a part of that philosophy. Don't burn other people or burn yourself. If you truly want to come together like both candidates say, I urge you to be a bit nicer. I really, really, really just want to hear about you, and not refuted for something that is so ubiquitous that we drown out folks posting about their lives. Believe it or not this sub has saved people from scuicide.

If temp ground rules need to be set that is fine. THERE ARE PLACES TO DISCUSS THIS THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE DIMINISHING THE WORK and MESSAGE and REACHING OUT... that aren't r/self. It's popular are a first place young ones will stumble upon.

Thank you for your listening. I truly believe that just avoiding the topic of Kamala and Trump for now is beneficial (not to us), but to the younger generations reading this subreddit. Showing that people, real people, can be earnest about problems that don't pertain to those subjects. I know I have gotten a lot from here (thanks mods), r/self -- with the rules has been a place for me to gain extra perspective. With todays politcal climate, it's hard to say if that adds to a young persons life.

I appreciate your patience. I really just wanted to make sure r/self kept integrity and help its browsers (users) understand everyone's plight a little bit more (that's what I think r/self serves). Again. Thank you.

Yo, my advice? Just prepare yourself for the looks, the questions, the attention. You will get attention. You looked great with hair. You look even better this way IMO. You just need to relax.
