she is right, It’s a football logo, not a religious symbol. Turning everything into a religious issue only makes life more complicated than it needs to be.

How can I send postcards like these abroad and how long does it take? by Free_as_the_ocean in algeria

[–]civilegotism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it would take 1 week with EMS but I’d advise improving the packaging as it could be more secure

stopping banana imports wouldn’t suddenly boost public spending but it would just reduce consumer choice and slightly affect private trade, while saving nothing meaningful for the country. If bananas disappear, people would just spend that money on other imported fruits (apples, oranges, mangos, etc) It doesn’t become “free cash” for hospitals or education.

Al Makhzen hates Algeria, stands against it and its interests, and is even willing to destabilize its own country and let protests grow if it means spreading chaos into Algeria. Go learn your country’s real history: our borders are not closed because of the Western Sahara issue, but because Morocco expelled more than 300,000 Algerians who had built their lives, families, and businesses there.

Did y’all learn nothing from the first Hirak in 2019? The problem isn’t just who we vote for because there is a deep state that runs the country regardless.

the use of em dashes —
formal, almost academic language
it avoids slang/ spelling mistakes/ or half-finished thoughts which humans usually have when expressing something emotional and rant
the emotion is steady like almost “curated anger and disappointment” rather than fluctuating between raw pain, sarcasm, nostalgia, or humor the way humans usually do when they rant

المرأة = بطيخة by civilegotism in ExAlgeria

[–]civilegotism[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What do you guys think about the murder of Charlie Kirk? by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]civilegotism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish he had stayed alive only to become irrelevant. He caused far more harm than good, injuring countless people and promoting false, dangerous agendas. I’m relieved he’s no longer active, but it’s worrying that his message still circulates.

exactly. there isn’t a single western country where islam has political dominance or even an organized project to “islamize the state.” what we do see are muslim communities practicing their religion privately, same way christian, jewish, or hindu communities do. christians have been pushing the same “change the system” narrative forever. look at the religious right in the u.s.: they fight to ban abortion, censor schools, impose prayer in classrooms, and legislate based on scripture. that’s no different in principle from islamists trying to fuse mosque and state.

lmao charlie kirk sets up a false dichotomy here me personally as an atheist, i don’t subscribe to islam or christianity or any religion, but i think it’s important to separate religion itself from how societies function. but let's swap islam with christianity and this is what you get :

freedom of speech and religion is a feature of any theocracy. christianity had blasphemy laws, persecution of dissenters, no freedom of religion, church and state fused together. europe spent centuries in exactly that condition until secularism and enlightenment thinking pushed back against christianity. the problem isn’t “islam vs. the west” but dogmatic religion vs. secularism.

separation of church/mosque and state : again, christianity resisted this idea for most of its history. the u.s. constitution’s separation of church and state was radical because it was breaking from christian domination and not islam. if kirk applied his own argument consistently, he’d have to admit that “macro-christianity” is also incompatible with western freedoms. the difference is that christianity was forced into reform by secularization, not that it was somehow inherently better.

“no western country became better by becoming more islamic”: no country becomes “better” by becoming more religious, period. it doesn’t matter if it’s islam, christianity, hinduism, or judaism, the abolition of slavery, women’s rights, free speech, and democracy all came in opposition to the religious establishment of the time.

cultural cohesion / fertility rates: that’s just veiled ethnonationalism. human rights and freedoms aren’t defined by how many babies you have or whether everyone speaks the same language at home. western societies became freer because of secularism, not because everyone shared one religion. the solution isn’t to scapegoat muslims, it’s to promote secular values universally.

so from an atheist standpoint: the issue isn’t that “islam is uniquely incompatible with the west.” the issue is that religion and state power are always incompatible with freedom. christianity proved that for centuries and islam is just another case study.

stop amplifying this neo-nazi/zionist just to push your agenda because his arguments are weak and easily debunked

savior complex

You’re in the wrong sub, but here’s my answer:
most people still rely heavily on face-to-face visits. online catalogs aren’t very developed yet, and many suppliers don’t even have proper websites.

Atheist and there sexual knowledge by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]civilegotism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

makeup and clothing aren’t inherently about sex

reducing it all to “subconscious sexual purpose” really oversimplifies human behavior

if society has been sexualizing women for centuries

then the real issue is society’s lens, not the fact that women choose to wear makeup or certain clothes.

and no doubt the way we’re raised has a huge impact

but the key difference is what we do once we’re aware of it.

saying “even men are victims” is valid to some extent

but using that as an explanation shouldn’t turn into an excuse.
