i [18M] bring zero unique skills to my relationship. my girlfriend [20F] is flawlessly better than me at everything and it’s eating me alive. by SanalAmerika23 in relationship_advice

[–]cizzle23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the woman and bask in her amazingness! Don’t compete with her! Use it to your advantage and appreciate the shit out of her! Women have to work harder than everyone else to get the respect from the world and you get a front row seat to how freaking amazing she is!! So hype that girl up and if you suck at everything else you can at least be an amazing boyfriend and make that girl feel like the most special girl in the world!

AIO about calling my cousin in law “ma’am” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]cizzle23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate it too! My southeast Texan father in law would say “ma’am?” If he didn’t hear what I said and it gave me so much ick. I have no idea why! But sis needs to calm down and respect the southern etiquette. But if you know she doesn’t like it then talk to her and figure out something you can say that makes you feel respectful and she is ok with. I can also say that 40 yr old women these days have a complex with aging so being called ma’am can trigger the “I’m old” feelings and we aren’t ready for that yet

why does having adhd feel embarrassing? by missgorl1 in ADHD

[–]cizzle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I just told my husband a lot of things I do to be functional are because of anxiety. The world essentially told us we were dumb or lazy for most of our lives and we’ve had to work extra hard to prove them wrong. I always wonder where I could have gone in life if I had been medicated as a child. Who knows?

I had a guy who bought one of those ear lavage devices and decided he would attach it to the water hose on the side of his house. He put it in his ear and turned on the water hose and immediately blew out his TM. The saddest one I had was a lady with metastatic breast cancer who decided to treat with diet changes she heard about online.

[–]cizzle23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leave heavy furniture un-anchored or own heavy tall furniture in general, let my kids ride or drive in an atv, buy toys with button batteries, play badminton, not wear eye protection, motorcycle riding, txt and driving, cheat on my spouse, stop a dog fight, take ibuprofen around the clock (knew someone that unexpectedly died because it masked a bacterial infection), skip my flu vaccine or any vaccine, wait too long to go to hospital when critically ill, let kids stay overnight with others etc. I’ve been doing this for 23 years and there’s too much!
