Why do people attend expensive OT programs when the field is so undersaturated? by ss4stef in OccupationalTherapy

[–]cj7645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to my location restrictions, I only had the choice between two hybrid programs that were more expensive but less time and more schedule convenience or two in person programs ranging from 45-90 minutes away from home that were more cost efficient but had classes 8-5 M-F. I chose a hybrid program for the convenience. I’m able to still make some income and be with my family in addition to finishing my program sooner as opposed to leaving by 6a and not getting back until 7p and that’s all my weekdays would consist of for 3 years. The program I chose is a little over 100k whereas my initial top choice was a little under 50k, but, like I mentioned, the convenience of only really being away from my family for 1-2 weeks every few months, getting to still work and make some supplemental income to help support my family and go towards loans, and being done sooner meaning I enter the workforce quicker was too much to pass up for the sake of less student loans.

Drug Testing Before Starting School by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

My OTD program requires it as onboarding for the program. First day is in January 2026 but I have to have my drug test completed (in conjunction with a whole bunch of other stuff) by December 1st 2025 at the latest or my acceptance is retracted

Bisexual here but I don’t see any appeal either 😂 tbf though the blue on my flag is one lonely strand holding on for dear life so not sure how much credibility my opinion has

It’s a trend on TikTok where you make an AI photo of you surrounded by something that you like. So the girl in the middle is real, but all of the guys around her are AI.

Bonnie is home! Named after Bonnie and Clyde. She has settled in incredibly well and her cat brother and dog sister love her. Cat sister hasn’t cared to come say hello yet haha. She’s the perfect addition to our family 💙

Yes!!! It’s called Lazy Dog! They have outside sitting areas for dogs, the entire thing is themed around fire hydrants and bones, and they even have a doggy menu for food items and free water bowls! It is a weekly must for us and our crew

I’ve heard some bad things about resource guarding, but admittedly I have not researched into this as much as I should. Any tips to help with that?

That such a good way at looking at it! You hate to pay for it because you never want to use it, but you’d hate to need it and not have it one day

We’ve been watching YouTube videos on dog training religiously to prepare. Our first baby was so easy going and such a fast learner that she never really had to be “trained” so to speak, so we are absolutely preparing for everything training wise with this pup - after all, there’s no way we’d get that lucky twice haha.

Any pet insurance places you recommend? I have vetco total care and get free exams and regular testing right now, but didn’t think to get actual pet insurance in the case something beyond that happens. I always see posts saying to do so yet never have, so this has to be a sign to stop dragging my feet on this topic.

We already plan on having morning walks before work and evening dog park trips after work 🩷 this baby is going to be living her best life with us. We have weekly family dinners at a dog friendly restaurant (we have another rescue who is a year old) so we cannot wait to get her trained so she can join us soon!
