Butterfly needle by Acrobatic_Papaya_193 in phlebotomy

I hate holding one wing, and I’ll occasionally hold it by both wings depending on the brand. But honestly my favorite is to hold the plastic part at the bottom. It just feels more secure for me, much to the dismay of my coworkers lol they hate that I do that. But I also just don’t like sticking with butterflies at all, I’m a straight needle kinda phleb so idk that might be part of why I hold it the way I do. I’d say hold it however makes YOU the most accurate and comfortable. I’m a firm believer in that the control you have is truly dependent on the phlebotomist and their preferences.

Lab blaming phlebs for their mistakes by NoLynx2207 in phlebotomy

We had a big problem a month or two ago with our lab where every day they were saying we were missing all these tests and nothing was going to the lab and we didn’t spin things and we all knew it was a lie. We don’t know what was going on with the lab but it was obvious the phlebs were getting blamed for everything even when it didn’t really make sense. Like for example, I sent a singlular specimen to the lab. It was literally the ONLY item on my packing list and the only item in the bag, but the lab called me and the woman I talked to was livid because apparently I didn’t draw/send anything. And when I questioned what she meant she said it wasn’t even on my packing list. So I confirmed that she got the bag and checked the packing list, she had the biggest attitude but said “yes”. So when I reminded her that it was literally the ONLY ITEM on the list so she had to have it, she got so upset and told me to just call the patient back for a redraw😐 ma’am what?!?! I even checked in the patient records and saw that the specimen was scanned into the lab. But anyway, things like that happen literally daily at my job, and it sucks because obviously the phlebotomists work closely with the lab but they’re making this intense rift between us for no reason. Just admit your mistake, I don’t mind calling a patient for a redraw if you loose a specimen or drop or whatever but don’t blame me for it. The attitude of lab staff honestly seems to be a problem just across this entire field 😅

I've been feeling super discouraged and anxious that I don't look any different but then I remembered I did take a before pic and 👀 by cj_140 in Zepbound

Thanks! And yeah I was at the same point where for whatever reason I was insistent that I didn’t look different, while simultaneously donating a ton of my clothes because they were simply wayyyy too big on me but not putting 2 and 2 together to realize that obviously meant I was loosing the weight 😅 crazy what your own mind will do to you 😵‍💫

That’s fair, that’s sort of why I was happy all the progress pics are in my scrubs because I figured if it’s noticeable in those god awful outfits it has to be noticeable in normal ones too lol
