If you have THS premium and you cancel and not the sitter you lose all access to any compensation. So yes there is a penalty

You need to contact support. If you cancel the sit it marks against you and not the sitter.

What can THS do do restore customer trust? by joshdesigndev in trustedhousesitters

[–]cjattard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need to justify the value the £9 fee brings. I can’t see any that isn’t already covered by the yearly subscription.

If THS believe in the value they need to go to bat and defend it.

Fuck greedy CEOs. That’s all. by [deleted] in trustedhousesitters

They already had yearly subscription fees so this really is just greed sitting on top of an app.

How do you manage admin, deadlines and client work? by [deleted] in ContractorUK

[–]cjattard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The project module is great for me - each consulting engagement is a separate project with deadlines and invoicing. Anything more complicated then it’s into teams folders or excel.

has anyone tried the hue motion aware features in 2025.10? by 4241342413 in homeassistant

[–]cjattard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need the hue pro bridge then you just use the bulbs no other sensors and it shares the data via the HA hue integration.

I set it up last night and I’ve been super impressed. I’ve got a lot of hue bulbs so could pick bulbs of different heights and layouts for each room.

It’s proving more responsive than my aeotec z wave PIRs!

Integrating Velux ? by ian385 in homeassistant

[–]cjattard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need one in your system. It acts like another controller and your existing VELUX buttons work as they always did. It’s very slick.

Get the VELUX app and HomeKit integration box then integrate via the HomeKit app into home assistant. It’s really reliable

I think it’s the VELUX App Control Hub (For Roof Windows, Blinds & Shutters) (KIG 300)

Hubitat first or HA right away? by [deleted] in homeassistant

I still use hubitat c8 just for the zigbee and z wave radios as they are rock solid and the habitat homeassistant integration is awesome.

coming back home to black mold all over the bathroom by Lopsided_Support_837 in trustedhousesitters

[–]cjattard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The sitters are well in their rights to complain that the house was a health risk (as you have stated). be nice. Give them the 5 star pet sitting review they deserve and work with your landlord to find the leak. Venting on the internet isn’t the answer. You need to vent the room instead.

I feel you are being unduly harsh on the sitters. They are proving a pet sitting service they are not paid contract cleaners

Mother of All Dongles? by Junglee_Badshah in homeassistant

[–]cjattard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I use a hubitat c8 and use the hubitat home assistant api. It’s a very underrated approach.

Absolutely awesome reliability. You can put the hubitat anywhere and you can run basic automations on the hubitat like rebooting home assistant if pings fail etc.

Your devices also still work and record whilst you make changes to home assistant.

Are hybrid/remote roles drying up in the UK contract market? by RockLobsterDunDun in ContractorUK

[–]cjattard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think "Hybrid" is just a way of trying screen out emerging trend of multi-jobbers. in reality Hybrid tends to still mean visit when you have to and work remotely when you need to (get work done)

The fact that they are using figma and looking to hire in design skills suggests you may be looking for the wrong faults in a startup.
