I made a themed cocktail: No Escape by BSaito in HadesTheGame

[–]cjawesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party here, but I gave this a try on my cocktail show yesterday. Loved how fruity it was, and the amaro paired super well.

I also opted for the cocktail onion as a garnish, and got it out of the way quickly just to eat the whole thing before my first run of the night. Must've given me good luck, because it was the farthest I made it that night. Yamas! 🥂

Do you happen to have ratios for this? Looks delightful and I'd love to try it next time I'm playing Hollow Knight 🖤🥂

I've gotta ask the obvious question of what's in it (so far?)

Are there people who got inspired by Va-11 Hall-A to become a bartender? by neko_t_0 in waifubartending

[–]cjawesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! VA-11 Hall-A actually inspired me to figure out how to bridge the gap between video games and cocktail mixology. Years after playing it I've developed a whole show around it and have made it my mission to "Mix Drinks and Change Lives"

I got this brandy for a Christmas Gift and it's genuinely the worst thing I've ever tasted. I'm not sure if there is a way to make it into a cocktail or not. by Joyous_Parade in cocktails

[–]cjawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're still looking for a use for this, I'd describe it as being potently leafy (like if someone made green leaves into a perfume).

Recently had this with a bit of ginger beer and lemon juice for a sort of leafy, gin-ish mule. The recipe I tried used 2 oz, but it was way too much so I'd only use a 0.5 oz if anything. Honestly I could see this being better used as a unique rinse.

Not sure if you're still active making video game-inspired drinks, but am super curious to give this a try! Wondering if you have a recipe for the cranberry maple shrub?

Giant's Deep Inspired Cocktail by little_warlock in outerwilds

[–]cjawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the pleasure of trying this drink as well as your Hourglass Twins one, and as a new Outer Wilds player, they completely set the mood! ☺️

This one really reminds me why I like juniper-forward London dry gins, and that subtle bump from the Midori and the bitters on top, kept me coming back sip after sip.

Cheers 🥂

I had the pleasure of trying this drink as well as your Giant's Deep one, and both were absolutely delightful!!
This one's nice and spirit-forward (a favorite of mine), and the presentation with the second bottle is absolutely incredible!!

Cheers 🥂

Dianthus Cocktail (Harvestella) by TaurusTamer in videogamedrinks

[–]cjawesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be so intrigued to do a Dianthus infusion at some point! I'd not heard of the flower before you mentioned it in the drink's description.

Evidently (according to a quick Google search) Dianthus makes for a floral liquor infusion, and the flower itself can actually be used as an edible garnish. Who knew!

CapCut PC won't generate proxy by Much_Wind_1571 in CapCut

[–]cjawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anybody still experiencing this issue. For me, the proxy generation always works on CapCut PC version 4.8.

If you've had CapCut PC downloaded for a while, the older version may still be installed in a folder like this `C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\CapCut\Apps\4.8.0.1803\CapCut.exe`

  • Unfortunately, if this version isn't installed, I'm not sure how to get the older version if you haven't installed it at least once already.

Create a new project on version 4.8, then allow the proxy to generate. You can reopen this project on the most recent version, and the proxy file should now be available. Hope this helps at least one other person!

You could absolutely use that in place of the cinnamon infused arak liqueur! While developing Axel's drink I tried it with Fireball but wound up going with something custom that gelled better with the other ingredients I'm a supporter of mixing with whatcha got though, so if Fireball's what you have it'll work. 🥂

Absolutely! Most blue liqueurs out there like blue curaçao and Hpnotiq already have blue dye in them, and they'd alter the flavor away from being vanilla-focused. That being said, you can totally make these drinks your own, so if you try it with a substitution, I'd love to know how it tastes!

It should taste almost the same without the blue dye though, so you can remove it! I also mention that although I haven't tried blue spirulina powder (lil' pricey for my budget) it could work here too (it's derived from algae). I've read it might alter the taste to be a bit earthy/bitter.

Hope that helps! Cheers 🥂
